🇫🇷 Daryzan is French Derby bound! Speaking to @KfordCailler, @NemoneRouth said: "After discussions with Princess Zahra and Francis Graffard, we have decided to aim Daryzan towards the Prix du Jockey-Club, in which we will also have the Mikel Delzangles-trained Dolmalan, both sons of Zarak."

Red Tyrant I believe is one of the most impressive looking Kitasan Black this 2 y.o generation, usually I was not the biggest fan of mares who are highly influenced by Storm Cat, but Giant's Causeway bringing a lot of Blushing Groom influence balance out the conformation

When we reached the homestretch everyone was already drained out because they couldn't take "Breath of Fresh Air". So most of them couldn't accelerate. However the demon lord himself showed up he still have a lot left in tank.

@radalrrayan2 @himariarchive That's even more difficult to use since most of Equinox's races were fast and most of Do Deuce were average or slow pace, we can use the 2023 Japan Cup but it can be argued that Do Deuce wasn't at his best in that race.

@solidddream @himariarchive Thing is, both of them grew and developed a ton after classic year, so using the Derby as our only source doesn’t feel right, maybe comparing their last three furlongs in similar paces would work better, if we’re judging their final spurts

@himariarchive In the Derby Equinox was positioned slightly further back than Do Deuce because he had to move outside due to the traffic in the pack, when it comes to finishing kick I think Do Deuce is more instant while Equinox needs more time to accelerate.

@solidddream If Equinox run in the front most of time he would win imo. Positional advantage, their last kick is on par even though Equinox slightly slower??? (tbh idk, this based on Derby).

@himariarchive Would he really manage to catch up if Equinox stalks the leader even at a slow pace? Equinox would be far ahead already in this case since Do Deuce stays back or mid pack

Her Classification Earnings are low (only 4 million yen from her maiden victory), so even if she were to register for the Oaks, it would be uncertain whether she could actually run if a large number of horses with higher CE also enter. It seems the connections at Ten’ei judged this risk and decided against reserving Lemaire for her. The same logic applied to Arrow Metal in the Aoba Sho. Even though Lemaire was originally scheduled to ride, the horse’s low CE ( 400 mil ) forced it into the lottery, and it was eliminated in the draw just recently. In Graded Stakes races, Classification Earnings are only added if a horse finishes in the top two. Classic races use a slightly different system called Entry Determination Earnings (出走馬決定賞金 EDE). jra.jp/kouza/yougo/w5… These are only credited for winning a 1-win class race or higher open race, or finishing second or better in a Graded Stakes. As a result, her EDE stands at 0 yen. Eight horses with 0 yen EDE have registered for the Oaks. A lottery will be held, and only four of them will be allowed to run. However, we won’t know the final number of actual entries until the deadline passes. Some owners may still enter even if the horse is slightly unsuited for the Oaks simply because they want to take part. It’s very much like trying to predict an election right before the vote. Given that uncertainty, Ten’ei apparently decided it would be safer to put Lemaire on a different horse. Furthermore, if the plan was to bring her back to the training center specifically to prepare for the Oaks, she should have returned earlier than last week. Most of the other horses already registered have been working on the slope course and woodchip track since the first week of May, well ahead of her. I think that she will most likely run in either the 9th race at Tokyo on May 23 (the day before the Oaks), the Carnation Cup (3yo 1-win allowance class, fillies only, 1800 m) or, in the 8th race at Tokyo on June 7 (Yasuda Kinen day), a 3yo and up 1-win allowance class race over 1600m.
