@vasekboch Because the docs are mentioning the following packages -> Git GitLab Runner Dependencies required by the jobs you plan to run that confuses a little bit . My plan would be to use bottlerocket as base image.

@solidnerd Custom image? We run it natively on EC2. The AMI is build via Packer. After that the workers run on stock Ubuntu image. If that's what you want to know.

Hey @vasekboch, I saw that you using GitLab Runners with the new autoscaler. I would be interested how you build the custom image and how it should look like.

💡 TIL: external-secrets.io also allow to sync secrets back to the secret store. Why would you need this ? Example: You want to manage your certificates with cert-manager and sync them back that non k8s apps could use them. buff.ly/3Ihj9tj
