🚨 Bengaluru So BMLTA is not yet operational. Thankfully BDA informs us that it'll place the short tunnel + elevated road proposals before BMLTA when it becomes operational. I presume projects are on hold until then. @siddaramaiah - Pls establish BMLTA without further delay.

Dear @DULTBangalore: @BDAOfficialGok hasn't obtained Sec 19 BMLTA approval for its proposed short tunnel+elevated road. Therefore, please direct BDA under Section 18 of the BMLTA Act to stop the contract award & seek formal BMLTA review. Rgds, Citizen Cc: Fellow citizens

Bengaluru's tragedy is this: BDA has money & wants to spend 1500 crs on unwanted short tunnel & elevated road from Hebbal to Mekhri Circle. B-SMILE has no money but wants to borrow 8000 crs @ 9% to subsidise unwanted long tunnel road from Hebbal to Silk Board via Mekhri Circle.

Bengaluru must insist BMLTA scrutiny. Section 19 approval must for the random whimsical projects planned by B-SMILE & others. Implementing without scrutinising, especially when plagiarism and cut-paste has been proven, will be akin to the "from frying pan to fire" situation.

Bengaluru’s urban planning is in complete disarray under the Congress government. Where is the mandatory scrutiny and approval from #BMLTA for this project? Every agency is chasing its own unaccountable infrastructure agenda without any reference to the approved integrated long term mobility plan for Bengaluru. The five corporations are randomly building flyovers and underpasses. B-SMILE is pushing the ₹42,000 crore car only tunnel project. Now BDA too has entered the fray. There is zero coordination despite the law clearly mandating BMLTA scrutiny and approval. The justification for the shorter tunnel is that the longer tunnel would take years to complete. And the justification for the longer tunnel is that the short tunnel is insufficient. Clearly not how projects should be approved. While the Silk Board to Hebbal tunnel matter is before the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, the government is now announcing random short tunnels and tolled flyovers without proper approvals. Bengaluru cannot be governed through whimsical bureaucratic experiments. The state government must empower BMLTA, prepare a comprehensive mobility plan, and execute infrastructure projects within a clear urban vision. Dear Bengaluru, Sorry. I failed to convince @BDAOfficialGok on the futility of the short tunnel+ elevated corridor. Request more of you to question the perverse "series of flyovers" B-SMILE plans. Speakup. Silence will hurt. We'll lose the much required metro Red Line.

🚨 Has BMLTA scrutinized and accorded Section 19 approval to the proposed short tunnel road? That is the simple question you need to answer @DULTBangalore Bengaluru citizens cannot be taken for a ride anymore with your on & off BMLTA hat. A simple Yes or No answer suffices.

Bengaluru, Know this equivalence. We know the double decker moved traffic from Silk Board to Ragi Gudda. Similarly, Hebbal short tunnel will move congestion to Mekhri Circle. @BDAOfficialGok - If you have 1200 crs to spare please spend it on something useful & not this🙏🏽

It's shameful, Bengaluru. Short tunnel justification is Long tunnel's 10 yrs build time. Long tunnel justification is the short tunnel's insufficiency. i.e. Short tunnel is short term Long tunnel is long term. 🤦🏽 Real reason: Grab Veterinary College land😡 RIP Red Line😥
