This was my 30-ton-per-day rice processing factory building.
When we started the construction in 2020, a bag of cement was around ₦3k, and within months, it moved to ₦5,500.
And we bought a full truckload [2 trucks in total] for the building project.
We completed the factory, built a 10k-capacity poultry pen, a 10k-capacity fish pen, and 6 rooms of staff quarters and office.
By the time we were done, our rice processing machine was trapped in China due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
When it finally arrived in Nigeria?
I chose the wrong port [Onne Port in Rivers State], and the machine was seized by customs officers.
According to them, they were suspecting the container to have loaded firearms [funny set of people].
So, they broke the container, opened the boxes, and saw only my rice processing machine.
It was closed back.
It was time to release the container, right?
Story that if I share with you, you’ll cry blood.
I cried and paid unnecessary bills in that port before they finally released the machine.
When it finally arrived in Makurdi that particular night, the drivers were insisting we offload at midnight🙈
I told them it was not possible.
All my staff were sleeping by now, and we could not get them to come there.
So, they slept.
The next morning. It was time to offload the container, right?
As the truck was driving to an Industrial Layout in Makurdi where we were to offload, ALL the jobless youths in Makurdi followed behind on bikes.
When they arrived, they demanded we pay ₦250k before offloading anything on Benue soil.
Bro, I am a Benue boy ooooh. A younger boy [I was less than 30 then] building a business in this country.
Guess what? We had no choice but to pay those boys cash. Though we negotiated, begged, and paid less than ₦200k.
Then, we offloaded the machines. I was extremely happy😍😍😍
The event that followed? I will share later. Difficulties continued.
Here is the lesson I want you to get today.
“As an entrepreneur in Nigeria, many times, you’ll spend more money and time fighting external battles than internal ones that you know well”
✍🏻 Unstable prices of inputs
✍🏻 Settling useless street boys
✍🏻 Battling extortion from government regulatory bodies
✍🏻 And more.
You can know your business A-Z and still fail due to external battles you were not prepared for.
It is like that for every entrepreneur in Nigeria, including Alhaji Aliko Dangote. You watched his external battles recently with regulatory bodies.
You see this Agriculture? I know it very well. Is not pride. I was born as a farmer.
But I am learning to beat those external demons programmed into the systems in this country.
And I MUST win them. You have to learn how to win them too my brother.
Good luck. Stay connected.
I will tell you what happened after the installation of the 30-ton-per-day rice processing machine in my factory that year.
See you soon.

A male bee mates for less than 5 seconds in midair. The ejaculation is so explosive you can hear it pop from a few feet away. His body rips in half. He falls dead before hitting the ground. And he is one of the lucky males in the hive.
When a male bee, called a drone, chases down a queen mid-flight at speeds of 22 miles per hour, his entire reproductive organ turns inside out. The pressure required for this comes from nearly all the blood in his body, which rushes downward to force the organ outward like a spring. The semen fires into the queen with so much force it makes the audible pop. The organ then snaps off and stays lodged inside her like a cork. As he flips backward off her body, his abdomen rips open. The next drone waiting his turn has to physically yank out the dead male's cork before he can mate. The same thing then happens to him.
The queen does this 12 to 20 times in a single afternoon. She flies up to a spot in the sky that beekeepers call a drone congregation area. Picture an invisible meeting point about 50 to 130 feet above the ground where up to 11,000 male bees from as many as 240 different hives are hovering, waiting for her. These spots stay in the exact same locations year after year, sometimes for over a decade. No one fully understands how brand new drones, born only weeks earlier, find them.
By the end of her mating run, the queen has collected around 100 million sperm cells. She keeps only 5 to 6 million in a tiny internal storage organ that keeps them alive for years. From that supply, she uses just two sperm cells per egg for the rest of her life, laying up to 2,000 eggs a day for 2 to 7 years. After that one afternoon in the sky, she will never mate again.
A 2019 study from UC Riverside, the University of Copenhagen, and the University of Western Australia found that bee semen contains toxic proteins that temporarily blind the queen by interfering with how vision genes function in her brain. If she can't see well, she can't fly out again to mate with more males. Their semen also carries a separate protein that attacks and kills sperm cells from rival drones still inside her. The males keep competing long after every one of them is dead.
The 99.9% of drones who never get to mate have it worse. As autumn arrives, the female worker bees in the hive stop feeding their brothers, then drag them out of the entrance after biting off their wings. The drones can't fly back in. They starve or freeze in the grass within days. The colony raises a fresh batch of disposable males the next spring, and the whole cycle starts over.

During my NYSC last year in Adamawa State, our CDS group visited a prison.
Till today, I genuinely don’t think I’ve recovered from what I saw there.
We went there with good intentions. We carried detergents, food items and other little things we thought would help them. The plan was simple talk to the inmates, encourage them, advise them and remind them that life could still change for the better.
The moment we entered the prison compound, the atmosphere changed completely.
One of the officers told us to drop all our phones inside a small office before going further. At first I didn’t think much of it, but the moment that door closed behind us, I started feeling uncomfortable. The silence inside that place was not normal.
As we approached, the officers ordered them to come out and sit on the floor for us. Around 70 of them slowly walked out and sat quietly without making noise.
Most of them were very young. Maybe around 21 to 28 years old. Boys that looked like they should still be in school or hustling outside trying to survive life.
But what shocked me first was their appearance.
Almost all of them looked extremely skinny. Their hair was completely barbed low to the point where you could clearly see the shape of their skulls. Not normal skinny… the kind that makes you uncomfortable when you look too long.
Then I noticed an old man sitting among them.

A lot of people might not like this, but you can’t win in a presidential election like this, it’s impossible in a country like ours.
In Oyo state, many of my guys are asking me to put them on to NDC excos, I looked for the number of the leader of NDC In oyo and sent it to them. They have been trying to reach out and the person is not even picking their calls lol.
I will be supporting SEYI MAKINDE for president but as someone who gave everything to PO’s campaign in 2023, I’m sad that the same thing we complained about in 2023 will repeat and might even be worst this time around.
You are contesting against a political party with structure all over the wards in the federation, real people that sits every weekend to have meetings.
In 2023 as a PDP member that worked tirelessly for PO, through our ward 5 Ibadan north there was no active polling unit agent for LP, I acted as the unofficial polling unit agent for LP around all those areas. If you check the results from most of the units in ibadan north some sheets don’t even have LP agent signature, yet their results were well accounted for, that was the work we did.
If PO is serious about competing in 2027, he needs to sit down and play it the way it works here, if not it’s just a waste of time.
As at today there is no known structure for NDC in oyo state, this is the fact and I hope the camp don’t see this as an affront but a genuine concern from someone who really cares and believe in PO’s ideals.
