Walking shelter dogs should be one of the main things the $ADA community is known for. Starting this week, we’re doing a 4-week shelter challenge to get more people showing up at local dog shelters and helping out. Each week, the best shelter visit video wins 3 SOL. The first winner will be announced next Wednesday. This is based on real effort, not video quality. We want to see people out there actually walking shelter dogs, spending time with them, and supporting local dog shelters. For verification, include: 1. The shelter sign 2. Dogs in kennels 3. Clips of you actively walking and interacting with the dogs Make it clear it’s a real shelter visit and not personal pets. AI-generated or staged videos will not be accepted. Shelter visits must be real and verifiable.

I’m glad we decided for the pup to stay with me before going back to the shelter. She would hardly eat or drink yesterday, and then she started vomiting. The first vet only gave her eye drops, so we had a different vet come check her out at my Airbnb last night. She had a pretty bad fever, so he gave her a shot and some pills to take for the next few days. She seems like she’s starting to feel better today. I’m going to keep her until she’s eating normally again, though. She’s had a rough week. She didn’t end up having to get her eye removed, but she will be blind in that eye, unfortunately. 😔
