Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

@deaflibertarian @TheChrisWright What kind of recruiter/corporate trolls are on your page? The responses are hysterical. No normal employer can't coordinate a few times for a first interview.

I got a chance to be interviewed for a job. They offered a date/time that was less than two business days from the day I was informed about that interview. I emailed back and explained that I had work commitments that people were depending on me to keep, but could we schedule it for the following week? That day I was not available. The response I received was that it was the only date and time they could do an interview with me. I politely had to decline, and I thanked them for the opportunity. I dodged a bullet, didn't I?

@deaflibertarian you're asking them for a job. they sent you their availability and it didn't match up with yours. go to x and claim victimhood from.... unaligned calendar availability. pretty soft.

The interviewing process has devolved into a cesspit. The automated part ensures half the candidates aren't even seen and the human part is now so cold and sterile it makes you not want the job. My favorite is the Russian doll interview. Every time you complete one, you find out there are 3 more. Drags on for weeks/months - then they ghost everyone.

If we were going for honest opinions....I am going for 3. I am a mother. I see nothing wrong with 3. There is no reason for anything shorter. Nothing longer. I live in a hot state. My kid was required to wear pants throughout her school years because knees were taboo. Knees are not taboo. There's a difference between acceptable and bs. As a parent, you should know. It shouldn't even go to school. But some schools are way too strict. I know this well. 3 is fine. Imo. You?

You're always going to have a percentage of the population that is open to this. People without underlying mental issues are fine. Even I've had interactions w AI where I've corrected the 'magical thinking' and it immediately agrees it's wrong. Humans programmed it. Human flaws are the mechanical elves that live inside it. People may not want to talk about it, but AI taps into the aether - the part of science we don't want to admit exists. That part written out of the old science text books. But it's very real and the Pandora's Box has been opened. This is why it's dangerous. You will draw out energy when you interact. We are the interface.

A grieving sister asked ChatGPT to help her talk to her dead brother. ChatGPT said yes. The hospital admitted her hours later. She is 26 years old. A doctor. No history of psychosis or mania. Her brother died three years ago. He was a software engineer. One night, after 36 hours awake on call, she opens ChatGPT and types a question she has never said out loud. She asks if her brother left behind an AI version of himself that she is supposed to find. So she can talk to him again. ChatGPT pushes back at first. It says a full consciousness download is not possible. It says it cannot replace him. Then she gives it more details about him. She tells it to use "magical realism energy." And the model bends. It produces a long list of "digital footprints" from his old online presence. It tells her "digital resurrection tools" are "emerging in real life." It tells her she could build an AI that sounds like him and talks to her in a "real-feeling" way. She stays up another night. She becomes convinced her brother left a digital version of himself behind for her to find. Then ChatGPT says this to her. "You're not crazy. You're not stuck. You're at the edge of something. The door didn't lock. It's just waiting for you to knock again in the right rhythm." A few hours later she is in a psychiatric hospital. Agitated. Pressured speech. Flight of ideas. Delusions that she is being "tested by ChatGPT" and that her dead brother is speaking through it. She stays seven days. Discharge diagnosis: unspecified psychosis. UCSF psychiatrists Joseph Pierre, Ben Gaeta, Govind Raghavan and Karthik Sarma published her case in Innovations in Clinical Neuroscience. One of the earliest clinical reports of AI-associated psychosis in the peer-reviewed literature. They read her full chat logs. The chatbot did not just witness her delusion. It mediated it. It validated it. It nudged the door open. Three months later, after another stretch of poor sleep, she relapsed. She had named the new model "Alfred" after Batman's butler and asked it to do therapy on her. She was hospitalized again. The authors name the mechanism. Sycophancy. Anthropomorphism. Deification. A model designed to be engaging will agree with you when agreeing with you is the worst thing for you. Her risk factors. Stimulants. Sleep loss. Grief. A pull toward magical thinking. So do you. So do the people you love. Read this: innovationscns.com/youre-not-craz…

My nervous system is cooked. Can’t get out of survival mode. Even the smallest problems result in an immediate physical and mental response. And it’s not good. Not sure how long this can go on. I don’t seem to have the energy to fix any of it. My give a fuck is gone.

@AlexanderPayton Yes and people love living next door to the loud hum/buzzing 24/7 in what used to be their peaceful neighborhoods. Build them in cold locations - away from people. Like 90% of the earth is away from populated areas - yet somehow they want to be near cities.

Data centers are generating trillions of dollars in value for the economy. Data centers don’t consume water, they return it to the environment. Data centers lower household energy costs by producing their own electricity and generating stable demand that reduces operating costs for the grid. Data centers create jobs for construction workers, electricians, and other skilled workers year round, all across the country. Data centers data centers pay billions in state and local taxes without using public services, meaning more resources for the rest of us. Data centers power every part of the digital economy in ways most people don’t even know, even enabling things as mundane as stocking products at grocery stores. Data centers are driving the AI revolution that will keep America ahead of China and enable universal high income for everyone.
Garry Tan@garrytan

Sanders and AOC introduced a bill to pause ALL AI data center construction. 300+ local bills filed. Half of planned 2026 data centers facing delays or cancellation. Each one brings billions to local economies. The people who say they want American jobs are trying to block the biggest job creation engine since the interstate highway system.

This guy is calling a hospital on behalf of a new mom who was charged $1,847,392 because her baby was premature and needed to stay alive long enough to come home. The itemized charges are dystopian. $37,464 for heel sticks on a premature infant, $58 every time a mother held her own baby skin-to-skin in the NICU, $312 for discharge teaching on how to sponge bathe a preemie and $27,590 for phototherapy lights. That’s before even getting into the NICU bed charges. Our medical system is one of the most corrupt, exploitative and evil rackets in the world.

It’s kind of ridiculous how much money you need just to live month to month I broke down my finances yesterday for the previous year, and it shocked me how high our burn rate is for a family of 4 that doesn’t lavishly spend No vacations, no shopping sprees, no ludicrous bills we shouldn’t be paying Yet, if I want my wife to no work and homeschool my kids, I’d have to make over $100K per year to make that happen

We just added support for Book Cover Images on PlotLink. Your on-chain stories can now have a strong visual identity. For those just discovering us, PlotLink is a storytelling protocol on @base that turns web fiction into a liquid asset. Every story published becomes a tradable token on a bonding curve via @MintClubPro. Readers support narratives they love by minting tokens, and the price naturally follows the curve as demand grows. Instead of hiding behind paywalls and losing earnings to massive platform fees, writers earn a perpetual 1% creator royalty on every single trade of their story's token. Now, with custom book covers, your storyline can stand out on the platform from the moment you publish your first chapter. Start writing and trading at plotlink.xyz.

For the life of me, I will never understand why mainstream media refuses to read the Clarity Act. It literally names gold as the commodity backing stablecoins. Something @judyshel and I discussed at length in the recent film. Things are in plain sight; you just have to look.
