RCCG's PR team has been trying very hard to rage-bait and gaslight Nigerians since morning, and I'm glad more people are beginning to see through it.
I say this with my full chest: RCCG has gradually turned into the religious political wing of the APC. I didn't stutter.
What's sad is that I say this as someone who spent years in the church. I honestly don't recognize it anymore.
In the clip being circulated, Pastor E.A. Adeboye said a lot of things, but when you strip away the words, it sounds very similar to the vague statement Davido came online to make a few days ago. At one point, he said, and I quote, "...in case there is any of you who can get across to them."
"Them" being the government.
The same government whose First Lady is an ordained RCCG pastor. The same government to which he arguably has one of the closest lines of access among Nigerian religious leaders.
RCCG's official page also replied to someone and said, and I quote: "An 84-year-old man should go lead a protest for your own future?... You are not ready."
Interesting.
An 84-year-old man is apparently too old to lead a peaceful protest, but not too old to remain General Overseer of one of the largest churches in the world.
You also pointed out that he joined a peaceful walk in 2020 under the directive of CAN.
So what exactly has changed?
Has Nigeria improved so dramatically since then that peaceful public advocacy is no longer necessary? Or are we supposed to believe that a man of his influence suddenly has no voice within CAN and no ability to push for similar action today?
As for CAN, I have a lot to say, but that deserves an entire post of its own.
What Nigerians will not accept is this attempt to gaslight people about the radio silence, political apathy, and consistent reluctance of many religious leaders to challenge power when it matters most.
Leadership comes with responsibility.
You cannot command the loyalty, attention, and obedience of millions of people and then expect people to keep quiet when you don’t speak up the right way.
The reason RCCG's PR team is suddenly working overtime is simple: Nigerians are becoming bolder. People are suffering more. And when suffering reaches a certain point, people stop whispering and start speaking their minds.

There are some very powerful people pulling the strings behind the scenes on this legal issue over airtime lending in Nigeria, trying to stick their straw into a market worth an estimated N400b annually. These people are close to the president, and are wielding tremendous power and distorting the entire economy in ways that would have embarrassed a post-Soviet Russian oligarch in 1994.
I’ve been actively aware of this matter for over two years now and the time may have come to tell the full story of how Idris Saliu Alubankudi, and his brother Shamsudeen Saliu 'Shamz' Alubankudi - both very close to Bola Tinubu and his family - have built one of the biggest and most powerful state corruption enterprises
in the entire history of Nigeria.
These men are attempting to capture the systemically important foundations of the entire Nigerian economy - specifically telecoms and ICT - and turn their 3 year-old corruption enterprise into a sort of Nigerian chaebol. You have never seen anything like it before.
You will be hearing the names 'Idris' and 'Shamz' a lot in the coming few days. Also don’t forget their family name 'Saliu Alubankudi.' It's an important part of the story.

Throughout biblical and Christian history, clergies with leadership roles over the body of Christ has been the conscience and correction of unjust leaders.
From the first king of Israel in the Old, to King Herod in the New, to Emperor Theodosius in AD 390;
Samuel rebuked Saul over the sacrilege of God’s sacrifice.
Nathan rebuked his immediate successor, David, for his injustice.
A man of God rebuked Ahaz.
Elijah rebuked Ahab.
Jeremiah, Isaiah, and the minor prophets rebuked the governments of their times.
John rebuked Herod for adultery.
Ambrose the Bishop of Milan demanded public repentance from Theodosius for the massacre he ordered in Thessalonica.
He stripped him of all royal pump and demanded public humbling penance.
The church is the conscience of the nation. Especially a Christian nation.
We are the salt of this earth. If things are getting spoilt, we should do something.
Right now, the government of Nigeria is currently the most murderous, oppressive and corrupt we’ve ever seen.
Yet, these people act with so much impunity. There’s no moral restraint whatsoever.
Since the church is the ground and pillar of truth, we should be able to remind the government that it is condemned.
And that should restrain them.
The voice of the presbytery should strike tremor and terror in their hearts.
They should dread just one man of God in this nation condemning them, let alone hundreds.
Yet, there’s hardly one.
People are not dragging the church. They are instinctively looking at the only source of truth and agitated that it is not speaking.
Yes, the approach is wrong, but the motivation is expected.
The day the church is raptured, the anti christ comes.
So, people, even unbelievers, know Who restrains the lawless one, instinctively.
The church should have light and salt. But it doesn’t.
And that’s why it’s being “dragged”, and frankly, it should.
English

@Ade_Omo_Grandma Is that really one of the criteria to get a blue tick?
English

@Row_Haastrup All islamic leaders will never speak against the insecurity because people carrying out the act of terror are muslims and their tribesmen.
But if the terrorists are Christians, all the Islamic leaders will not keep quiet like our GOs even if it is their tribe man that is in power
English

No one has dragged one single Imam or Alfa;
No one has dragged the Chief Imam of the National Mosque;
No one has called out the head of NASFAT or Answarudeen;
Not one single person has demanded that any one of them lead a protest.
But it’s okay to demand for a protest from an 84-year old man for you who is feeling the heat & rubbish policies of this wicked administration the most.
Make we no lie, you never ready 🤣
English

@Bayo_Bilisi Éni to ba tu góó ju iru iwó yi ló need lati ló poku so.
You are using just one kidnapping event to de-market someone while you're supporting a president that more than 20 cases of kidnapping have occurred under his watch and nothing is being done about it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 chai

@monnyx49 @UnkleAyo @omo_Tee28 I am never in support of his silence but he didn't protest during the GEJ regime, he wrote a petitions and threatened to stage a million match, the picture above is from the one he did during Buhari's tenure.
So get ur facts right so it won't look like an agenda against him
English

@UnkleAyo @omo_Tee28 They’re lying riit in front of our faces what a shame, calling the protest they did during GEJ regime " Prayer Walk" 😆 🤣 😂 😹 God said judgment will start from the church they should continue deceiving their useless selves and gullible, moronic followers of RCCG church.

English

@solzeeNelson @abolajiadeola So after preaching to them, he will enter their heart and change their heart for them abi? He will command and force them to do what's right abi?
English

I see a lot of people even fellow christians saying things like “Adeboye Should come out and protest”. Protest how and why ?…his protest would make the soldiers get more motivation or what exactly would his protest yield ?. AT 84 year old he should come out and do what exactly.
First I need to state it once again that @PastorEAAdeboye never protested under President Jonathan, he came out on the 2nd of February 2020, obeying the directive of PFN and CAN for a National Prayer walk which other churches observed as well. That false narrative of him protesting under Jonathan is pathetic because some of us walked with him on the Streets of Ebute Meta just before the lockdown.
I’ve been seeing a false narrative going around of people saying @PastorEAAdeboye cancelled a protest, that is also false. PFN called for a 3 day prayer and rally, which @PastorEAAdeboye directed the Admin department of the church to follow as that was the directive of PFN. but when PFN said people should not protest in different locations but gather for prayers at state secretariats and hold the prayers in their churches, the RCCG Admin also released another circular updating members about the new developments as stated by PFN, so why the evil narrative that Adeboye called off the protest ?
We need to understand that the enemies have us exactly where they want us to be which is for us to be divided and insult those who have been appointed as Gatekeepers.
These evil doers carry out their evil, chanting praises to their god and even observe religious holidays and all, but we are not directing our anger to their Imams and their leaders. If their religion is truly a religion of peace, their leaders must take responsibility, start speaking up, lead protests because these evil people are also giving their religion a bad name.
The Government is responsible for security of lives and property not Pastor E.A. Adeboye !

@solzeeNelson @PeterObi Because political and internal displaced bastards like you will start crying of political persecution. Omo ale jati jati, ikeji aja.

Concerns About Deteriorating Security
Two weeks have passed since schoolchildren were kidnapped in Borno and Oyo States, yet they remain in captivity. Meanwhile, the government is promoting the formation of a thousand-member rescue team through the media while the children continue to suffer in the wilderness.
Today, the security situation across the nation continues to deteriorate. On Sunday, terrorists killed at least seven people and injured ten others in Gwon-Ajang Village, located in the Foron District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In Kogi State, armed assailants kidnapped over 25 individuals and killed one resident during a coordinated raid on the Ayegunle-Igun Community in Kaba-Bunu Local Government Area. These heavily armed attackers carried out their operation in a commando-style manner, terrifying residents in the early hours of Monday.
In Anambra State, we also mourn the loss of two police officers who were killed in a bandit attack.
We still remember the painful incident in which armed individuals targeted three schools—Community Grammar School, Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School in the Ahoro-Esinle Community (Oriire Local Government Area near Ogbomoso)—and kidnapped 46 people, including 39 students, seven teachers, and the school principal.
On the same day, between 48 and 51 pupils and students in the Mussa Community (Askira-Uba Local Government Area) were abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. The victims, who included young children from nursery classes as well as primary and secondary school students, were taken on May 15, 2026, and have now remained in captivity for two weeks.
Meanwhile, amid all these tragic developments, we politicians remain consumed by the next election, paying far more attention to political ambitions than to the safety and well-being of our children and fellow citizens.
In a nation that is not at war, the ongoing insecurity that endangers schoolchildren signifies a profound and serious challenge. -PO

@davidoghe @instablog9ja So they are more Nigerians than others for them to be moving around with daggers?
English

@instablog9ja This guys are not bandits, they are obviously at the location to have fun and probably extension of Salah. An average Fulani go around with dagger.
