Absolute retard. China and Russia are the best examples of finance capital controlling industrial. It's how these states leverage their economies. Shitlibs like this live in fantasies.
American in China@USA_BaoziLover

@AltOpinions99 Russia, China and Iran. None of those are controlled by or meaningfully exporting monopoly finance capital because their banking systems aren't set up for it to even be possible in the first place. You didn't read Lenin. You read a summary.

@sometimes_I_jst @0xCAFAD Stop yapping like an idiot. Sinhalese should fix their caste issues before preaching others. Atleast point a real Tamil caste. All your bogus claims can be debunked. Caste is a politics in India. Why Sinhalese have same shit?

in 1987-1989 the Sinhalese Buddhists killed over 60,000 of their own lower castes (Batgama, Vahumpura etc.) the conflict was between government forces and JVP communists, but they killed large numbers of lower-caste males to settle scores and out of fear they would join the JVP.

i am glad this is happening. Indians are starting to learn how ugly and repulsive caste is and they are currently in the whataboutism phase, their egos are bruised and they always act so pathetic

@Gojo_playz007 @DiazPharsh4206 Ok, let's accept your absurd claim that they are "clans" and not "castes". Why is it ok to treat other clans like this? Is it ok to segregate people just because their clan is different?

Vellala, Parava, Paraya, Karaiyar, etc etc communities spoke Tamil. British simply clubbed them together and named them Tamil according to the language they speak. In other words, the European model of identifying people based on the language they speak, was applied here.

@Gojo_playz007 @DiazPharsh4206 Tamils have caste and are very casteist. Also Arundathiyars were rejected because they are low caste, if they were high caste Telugus the Tamils would happily accept them lol. But it's not just them, Paraiyars also did the same, are they also not Tamils?

@sometimes_I_jst @DiazPharsh4206 Arundathiyars are Telugu speaking migrants from Andhra brought by Vijaya Nagar kings. Tamils have clans not caste. However many small scake farming calms have been oppressed by Naicker kings and their lands were taken by them. So ask Telugus why they Identify as Tamils.

@yawnyaa Out of all separatist movements in South Asia, SL Tamils are the least deserving of a state where they constitute the majority, but some larpers like him would still rather glaze an ethnonationalist movement that failed 17 years ago lol.

@DiazPharsh4206 Just cus you and whites can't find your real fathers doesn't mean it's the same case for whole world. Every ethnic nationss had tribes, clans, sub clans. They even live as separated kingdoms like Koreans historically. Sinhalese is the real psudeo Idenity not based on ethnicity 🤡

@glosseantics I just want to meet people, friends, a partner, whatever who likes film, or literature or music or philosophy, and to not always be met with "who? What? I don't know what that is" with a condescending tone whenever mentioning a book or a film that I found impactful

if you think cultural stereotypes of adolescence and things they like [Bolaño! Pynchon! Godard! Kurosawa! Skateboarding! Etc!] need to be made more ""lowbrow"' or "illiterate" to reflect reality, you are just doing a disservice to those same adolescents
Von heute auf morgen@JungeToerless

My undergraduate students are functionally illiterate and everyday I have to open Twitter to see takes like "20 year old boys are thinking about Roberto Bolaño" and "everyone's reading Thomas Bernhard to impress women." What reality do you guys live in?

@tovarischrex @Enbyyreturns Yes the Pakistan movement was lead primarily by landlords but it's ludicrous to say it did not have popular support especially after the first Congress govt that killed any idea of Hindu Muslim cooperation a "secular" govt still completely sidelined Muslims from govt

@Enbyyreturns For regional Stability in Himalayas. Also it lacks the capacity for self-sustained development due to its sparse population and harsh geography. Integration with China alleviates the risk of economic stagnation and poverty. Independence would only grant Tibet client state status.

Everything aside, why are people claiming Tibet had a slave system worse than chattel slavery in the US? Do people don't read anymore or what?

@Enbyyreturns I don't think it'll be a feudal state at all if independent. Just that it's better off being part of China.

@Enbyyreturns It has nothing to do with feudalism but Tibet annexation was a net positive over independence. Also Mongolia was literally a Soviet puppet state with all their policies being decided by Moscow. It was independent only because both PRC & USSR preferred it as a buffer state.

Annexation of Tibet had nothing to do with feudalism or whatever. If Nationalists had won they would have invaded Tibet too. It was considered a breakaway state like Mongolia. The reason mongolia got saved is simply because it was under USSR protection.

@KottuKadeNeko @HongZhou1110308 No, they hated them because those coolies imported for cheap labour were mostly Dalits. The Sinhalese slurs "Sakkliyar" and "Parayar" are loanwords borrowed from Tamils who used them to insult lower castes.

@MMoney17476 @Sulochanaah @DiazPharsh4206 The report you've quoted is 25 years old. The source it cited (Nireka Weeratunge, Aspects of Ethnicity and Gender Among the Rodi of Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka: International Centre for Ethnic Studies, 1988) is 4 decades old. This is simply outdated information.

@Imperium_Kanchi @Sulochanaah @wasteyavvaralu Caste was brought by Tamil hindus to Sri Lanka, so we kicked them back to Tamil nadu to enjoy their precious caste system when everyone look the same. Jaffna Tamils are still very casteist towards their own, Jaffna university still has caste based rules that only applies Tamils

@Imperium_Kanchi @wasteyavvaralu Caste isn't really a thing in Sri Lanka. The emergence of Sinhalese Buddhist nationalism made caste divisions to disappear in Sinhalese society.
