Got my sister a new phone so that nobody’s son can impress her with cheap tricks
Also Vietnam is great for getting electronics because their taxes are much lower than in Europe
Me and @thinkgrowcrypto are Gods sleepiest soldiers, but we are also so cool because we woke up at 5AM to see beach sunrise
Next time we’ll hopefully also go for a sunrise run and swim
Claude Design isn’t going to wipe out design jobs what it will do is transform and augment them, much like AI has done for coding and other knowledge work. It automates repetitive, thyme intensive parts of the process (rapid prototyping, slides, one pagers, basic UI mocks), this could reduce demand for purely tactical or junior level design work. High value human skills like strategic thinking, user empathy, complex UX logic, brand nuance, stakeholder alignment, and final “taste” decisions remain hard for AI to fully own. I am personally excited to try the prototyping feature when I can get my hands on Pro x.com/claudeai/statu…
It’s so funny me (industrial designer) took place in architectural competition (with a team of 3 architects) and took 2 nd place (out of 40 teams).
Nice experience! I like that architects are people of low cortisol and open mind
Just finished my one day project for a competition (I had 2month but…). Really enjoyed it, made a model, renders and presentation in one day… Interactive kinetic sculpture based on CMY colour model inspired by Felipe Pantone
I'm coaching my design student sister on how to ask to be paid for her work
Some companies like to abuse students and make them do work for free, ghosting them afterwards
No one should ever perform any work for free, learn to stand up for yourself, even if you're a student
Yes Patrick you’re right, but @enjojoyy still points at a real problem.
It’s sadly a common issue for artists who are not business savvy to be misled, this is mostly an issue of mindset and lack of business experience but a real concern for many artists that start selling their services professionally.
Albina, one of the best solutions I’ve found is to remind artists that if they sell their art they’re running a business, and must learn how to run (and not run) a business profitably, even though it’s not sexy for artists to worry about such things when they just want to make art and a living out of it.
I always recommend anyone starting a business but specially artists to read Blair Enns’ best selling book: “The win without pitching Manifesto”. It helps correct some very common unhealthy mindsets and behaviors around business many end up learning too late or after being hurt. It can be a lifesaver.
