what happened to "UNCONDITIOANL SURRENDER"?

For me, the fact that the US sent a counter-proposal in response to Iran's (pretty maximalist) proposal from last weekend is a bigger tell. Iran essentially dared the US to kill talks and go back to bombing. Trump chose to keep talks going instead.

@bruno28003699 @RocketManCrazy @Osint613 Regardless of what happened 50 years ago and what Trump says, this should be Iranian people's choice. I'm not crazy about Pahlavi, but he clearly has a ton of support. Ignoring that or telling Iranians how to feel about him is not wise.

I wish to see the current regime removed as much as anyone. Iran has been a major pain in the ass to the world. With that said, what I stated about Pahlavi's father running a brutal, autocratic monarchy was accurate. There is no false narrative there. Trump has stated that if the current Iranian regime collapses, "somebody from within Iran would be more appropriate" to lead rather than an exiled figure who has lived in the United States since 1979. Hopefully, this new person can begin removing restrictions on freedom, human rights, and women's rights so that Iran can begin acting like a 21st-century nation — not a theocracy, not a monarchy, but a modern, democratic nation.
