Purposely omitting context that this video was made at the height of the Syrian war to raise awareness for plight of Syrian children... A war that was largely ignored, and even perpetuated by many governments.
It was thought that if the girl was portrayed as white it would garner more empathy, and ultimately redirect attention to Syria’s children. Sad, really. But also clever.

Turns my stomach to watch this. I was 12 years old in Gaza when i learned each one of their names. I learned to recognize what kind of plane was used to bomb us plainly from the sound of it. Our torment is their prize. They exterminate us to make collections

it really upsets me that the only progress that will be achieved is the progress that put us, regular people, outta business. god forbid we get progress that puts billionaires outta business. it's always AI that "will cure cancer" and never UNLIMITED FREE ENERGY FOR ALL

Nuno Loureiro was assassinated yesterday He was a professor + the director of MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center > 47 years old > Studied nuclear fusion (= energy source of the Sun + stars) for 10 years at MIT > His award-winning work focused on creating a virtually limitless, clean energy source on Earth - one that doesn’t produce carbon or radioactive waste (usual biproduct of fission reactors) > His research was essentially a threat to companies in the energy sector (fossil fuels, wind, solar, etc) > Nuno was vital to the development of fusion nuclear power plants, without him the path ahead is less clear + his death will set back the entire field Nuno is not the first MIT fusion scientist to be brutally murdered, in 2004 Eugene Mallove was also shot in his home I hope this opens eyes – there is an agenda at play
