London and Lagos are two of the most culturally dynamic cities in the world. Fantastic to see Nike Art Gallery while in Lagos, a hub for preserving Nigeria’s rich artistic heritage and empowering a new generation of creatives.

From Nollywood legends to Afrobeats giants, Lagos’ creative energy is unmatched. Last night, I joined Mo Abudu at EbonyLife Place to celebrate the global talent and cultural connection between London and Nigeria. These connections matter, and they’re growing stronger.

Opinion: Africa is the world’s most rapidly urbanising region. Forging closer ties could be a boon for London businesses, writes Sadiq Khan This week I’ll be visiting Africa to bang the drum for our great capital city – and to do everything I can to further develop the economic ties and cultural links that bind London and countries in Africa. This is the first trade mission to Africa by a London Mayor. Over four cities and five busy days, our delegation will be working to drive trade and investment across critical sectors of our economy – from finance, health and education, to tech, sustainability and our creative industries. This sort of thing happens when the originals from areas sell up & let those usually from shires buy them out. They move to LDN for the money & band together & force areas in LDN to mimick the shires their from, with no regard or care for existing cultures in the area.

Confirmation that there will be no noisy music events in Brockwell Park this year as Lambeth, the South London Council, loses yet another court case. A mighty relief for residents as the noise from some of the concerts could be heard many miles away.
