SO, all the images that are taken from space are black and white and are digitally enhanced by astronomers at NASA. The nebula that looks so amazing and inspires our curiosity of space actually looks like the image on the far left. Just a space fart, and after its edited, it looks like the gorgeous radiant (kinda looks like Godzilla) eye candy on the right. How disappointing that space just really looks like a bunch of nothing.

This isn’t accurate. I explain this often. Space is *quite* colorful. EVERY digital raw photo is monochrome. Your phone has something called a bayer filter that allows it to turn one photo into 4 captured through different color filters. Telescopes like Hubble do the same thing through alternating filters, and most of the photos they share are true color. JWST shoots in infrared which is outside the visible spectrum, so it has to be shifted to visible light by its very nature, but the colors are still accurate to the wavelength separation captured, they’re not selected arbitrarily and show real detail. This process is usually overexplained which leads to confusion, when the reality is space photos are generally far more precise than any casual digital photo, including the color.

@MelinaIchu Lei en una historia de la F1 de los 50s que un piloto se subio al auto y vio un agujero en el piso. Era el agujero que habian hecho los mecanicos para drenar la sangre del piloto anterior que se habia matado el dia anterior. Los arreglaban y salian de nuevo a correr.

Maybe more context and defense than what was needed, but I felt the need to speak what was honestly on my mind I said nice to meet you, and walked away from her group, which seemed to be in full acquiescence and agreement with her feelings and thoughts I have harbor no animosity or ill will towards her or her friends tbh I understand why they think and feel the way they do I'd feel the same way if I were them and consuming the media they were consuming I tell this story just to say...I've talked with probably over 1,000 people here and this is the first person to show me outright disdain and ill-will in person for being an American A lot of "American hate" you hear about and read on the internet is just that...keyboard warriors that aren't willing to say these things to your face directly 99% of the people I meet here are kind, warm-hearted people with good intentions. it blows my mind how inhospitable some flight attendants can be. I'm in the last row on the aisle on a @united flight. pre-takeoff, the two FAs behind me are standing around talking about vacations, etc - just killing time. I had an empty cup with ice, so I turned to see if I could get one of them to throw it away so I didn't have to hold onto it through takeoff. this female flight attendant turns to me with an inauthentic/condescending smile and puts her hand up to indicate "wait"... for several seconds. the other FA instantly turns, sees me with the cup, and immediately reaches over to take it and throw it away. she was also talking about how she's been flying for 20-something years. I'm sure you're getting jaded with the job but man, what happened to just being a nice person, especially when you're on the job and taking care of passengers is part of the job description?
