@Pirat_Nation NSFW has always been prohibited by PayPal. They've been banning artists for years. Wild that it suddenly got attention. Well, better late than never, I guess.

Payment processors are increasingly restricting adult content creators. PayPal has started issuing permanent account limitations to artists who accept payments for lewd or adult-themed commissions, citing policy violations and unusual activity. This follows Stripe’s recent move to block lewd projects on Kickstarter. Private companies are enforcing stricter content rules that go beyond legal requirements. Many independent creators are forced to find alternatives like crypto.

@SurfalHoptokins @10shiiw This is also prohibited by their ToS. I mean, yeah, you can do it. But the risk is present. There are plenty of artists/game developers banned from Boosty for ToS violations. Myself included.

@10shiiw There's one called Pioneer or Payoneer or smth that actually lets you still take Paypal payments. I was looking into it a while ago but never used it myself, so I don't know how good it is, but I know it takes Paypal as a payment type and you can also use it for Patreon deposits.

@Grummz PayPal never allowed lewd commissions. It's common knowledge in the art community, and artists are constantly risking their accounts getting banned.

Paypal is SHUTTING DOWN COMISSIONS. No more lewd commissions. Multiple reports of artists getting notices like these. This follows on the heel of Kickstarter saying Stripe is shutting down lewd kickstarters too. It's out of their control.

@RainyRentyn Cheap/fast/quality. Choose any two. It all comes down to this. Don't expect to pay $100 and get a high-quality commission in 2 days. On the other hand, artists should definitely provide clearer communication if they can't even begin working on a commission until 6 months later.

How does this keep happening??? - An artist starts taking commissions - They take on too many... - Artist is also always posting about how they are also out of money too... - Patient commissioners are too patient and let the artist go without much communication or "bothering" - Lots of time passes... sometimes a YEAR or more without the work being done - Commissioner starts reaching out but often gets ignored or if they do get a response its "soon it will be done" - Doesn't get any response until they make a call out post - The artist then has to write a huge post about how they are overworking themselves to finish everything or giving refunds... If you're an artist, learn to communicate actual answers... not just tell people what they wanna hear. It hurts to upset people, but it's worse to ruin your reputation because you want to make everyone happy but you legit can't cause you over booked yourself. Most people will be understanding if you are honest. Also some advice, don't accept money for a project until you are STARTING THE PROJECT. If you are a commissioner, I know what ts like to not wanna rush somoene, but stand yp for yourself. No art should be taking over 6 months to do after you have paid unless its a huge project that has been explained as needing to take that long. This type of situation cant keep happening. It sucks for everyone involved.

@tachyontester @EL_K_8187 It's exactly because the camera functions just like IRL. Try taking the same photo, and you'll see why the borgr and the hand had to be made bigger (to create the illusion that Ratricia is smaller/further away).

@EL_K_8187 I always wondered why this kinda stuff has to be done to make certain shots. Like, in real life you can make a photo like this without needing a giant hand. Does the camera in 3d programs function differently from irl cameras in terms of perspective?
