Y’all, the “a” vs “an” isn’t about what letter the next word starts with. The right answer is “whichever avoids a glottal stop.”

@ChelseaParlett It might be worth mentioning that sips is specific to Apple. A suitable cross-platform tool is Imagemagick. The equivalent of your whole loop there would be 'mogrify -format png *.pdf'. Complete with a Calvin & Hobbes allusion 😄

If anyone else finds this helpful, code i found to run in terminal to batch convert PDFs to pngs: 1️⃣open terminal in folder containing PDFs 2️⃣for i in *.pdf; do sips -s format png $i --out /Users/username/Desktop/$i.png;done *️⃣

@Alex_Leemans Elsevier, right? Let's be clear: reviewer suggestions are a favour we do as authors. It makes the editor's job easier, but the job is still theirs to assess whether a potential reviewer may be biased. Past co-authorships are no more than a feeble guide for this.
