#SovietNavy Another submarine will become a museum ship in Sevastopol. Shipbuilders of the Sevastopol Marine Plant will dock and repair the B-435 (former 🇺🇦Zaporizhzhia),a Foxtrot-Class submarine in order to prepare the submarine for museification.

#OTD in 1984, the crew of the Soviet freighter SS Bratstvo was forced to abandon ship in the Strait of Gibraltar due to flooding. The crew initially believed that there had been an explosion in the engine room but it was soon learned that Bratstvo had been holed in a collision with the Victor I-class submarine K-53. K-53 suffered a severely damaged bow and had to go to Tunisia for urgent repairs. Bratstvo was towed to Spain where it was scrapped.

This 350 tonne submarine is currently half-way through a four-week journey on German roads and rivers. Operated by the Germany Navy from 1973-2010, the U17 sub is due at @museumtechnik later this month where it will then go on display.
