If Abdul El-Sayed beats Stevens I actually think he's very likely to be the next president. I suspect he'll trounce the Republican. His criticisms of Dem elites will appeal to those who liked Bernie & Trump. And if he wins MI he'll silence centrists & be ideal Dem 2028 contender.

If I was the El-Sayed campaign, I probably wouldn’t want to be associated with Platner advisors’ previous push for Platner as a future President given that it sounds grotesque today. But then again, his campaign has all the same advisors so maybe he will be next

The energy for Platner is going to move to El-Sayed. They are very different people; AES is a high-achieving brainiac who doesn’t drink and has two kids with his college sweetheart. I think people who have never won an election in a red state or a purple state should consider fewer lectures on what America wants.
In 80% Dem districts, hats off to getting younger, more liberal candidates elected. That is not the same as defeating MAGA at the ballot box. The people who have done that are folks like Slotkin, Gallego, Warnock, Ossoff, Rosen.
