Sunday musing: A friend raises a good point: why do we need 4 days @ECISVEEP after final voting for counting to begin? Think about Kerala and Assam: EVMs have been kept in strong rooms for almost 4 weeks. Doesn’t happen in any other part of the world.

Nashik Court has rejected anticipatory bail for TCS employee Nida Khan in the #TCSNashik case.
The court cited the urgent need for custodial interrogation to uncover external funding and potential links to organised conversion networks in Malegaon.
Khan is accused of facilitating a racket involving forced religious conversion and sexual harassment. Victims allege they were coerced into wearing hijabs and reciting the kalma.
As an process associate in HR, Khan is accused of suppressing victim complaints and aiding prime accused Danish Shaikh in grooming young women.
Authorities are also probing an organised racket targeting IT employees, with reports of plans to even traffic victims to Malaysia.

Are you aware of this fact about Namita Thapar who was giving Gyaan on the benefits of Namaz to Netizens ??
In January 2023, her Instagram bio was changed to "Shty mother, shtier wife" and a story was posted by her son criticizing her public persona. It urged her followers to unfollow her, stating something along the lines of "Pls unfollow my mom, she's not what she portrays on Shark Tank."
Namita Thapar later clarified that supposedly it was her recently fired educated househelp who stole her phone and made the changes in her Instagram bio.
Gajab maid thi !!
She posted on X :
"This is what hate does to this world, makes people toxic. An educated house help who was removed stole my phone & put a hateful post on me on social media. Price of being a public figure!"
Perhaps Ms Namita Thapar should start applying her Gyaan on her family first !!

I don’t need lessons on democracy, public discourse or decency from anyone, especially from @DrAMSinghvi . Decency and him can never be in the same room.
The real issue here pertains to a woman - who has nothing to do with politics - but has her character assassinated on national television using FORGED documents from other countries.
I am confident the courts will take note of this, sooner or later and the guilty will be punished for his brazen act of maligning a woman's character using false documents to influence electoral outcomes.
Also Dr Singhvi, it’s easy to speak on a platform where I am not present to respond. That is not called a debate- it is simply avoiding a fair exchange, one which you were espousing.
And let me be clear, this is just the beginning, not the end.
Satyamev Jayate.

MUST READ Unbelievable & SHOCKING INFORMATION.
DD Podhigai telecast an interview with Mr P M Nair, (retired IAS officer, who was the Secretary to Dr. Abdul Kalam Sir when he was the President.)
I summarise the points he spoke in a voice choked with emotion.
Mr Nair authored a book titled "Kalam Effect"
1. Dr Kalam used to receive costly gifts whenever he went abroad as it is customary for many nations to give gifts to the visiting Heads of State.
Refusing the gift would become an insult to the nation and an embarrassment for India.
So, he received them and on his return, Dr Kalam asked the gifts to be photographed and then catalogued and handed over to the archives.
Afterwards, he never even looked at them. He did not take even a pencil from the gifts received when he left Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
2. In 2002, the year Dr Kalam took over, the Ramadan month came in July-August.
It was a regular practice for the President to host an iftar party.
Dr Kalam asked Mr Nair why he should host a party to people who are already well fed and asked him to find out how much would be the cost.
Mr Nair told it would cost around Rs. 22 lakhs.
Dr Kalam asked him to donate that amount to a few selected orphanages in the form of food, dresses and blankets.
The selection of orphanages was left to a team in Rashtrapathi Bhavan and Dr Kalam had no role in it.
After the selection was made, Dr Kalam asked Mr Nair to come inside his room and gave him a cheque for Rs 1 lakh.
He said that he was giving some amount from his personal savings and this should not be informed to anyone.
Mr Nair was so shocked that he said "Sir, I will go outside and tell everyone . People should know that here is a man who not only donated what he should have spent but he is giving his own money also".
Dr Kalam though he was a devout Muslim did not have Iftar parties in the years in which he was the President.
3. Dr Kalam did not like "Yes Sir" type of people.
Once when the Chief Justice of India had come and on some point Dr Kalam expressed his view and asked Mr Nair,
"Do you agree?" Mr Nair said "
No Sir, I do not agree with you".
The Chief Justice was shocked and could not believe his ears.
It was impossible for a civil servant to disagree with the President and that too so openly.
Mr Nair told him that the President would question him afterwards why he disagreed and if the reason was logical 99% he would change his mind.
4. Dr Kalam invited 50 of his relatives to come to Delhi and they all stayed in Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
He organised a bus for them to go around the city which was paid for by him.
No official car was used. All their stay and food was calculated as per the instructions of Dr Kalam and the bill came to Rs 2 lakhs which he paid.
In the history of this country no one has done it.
Now, wait for the climax, Dr Kalam's elder brother stayed with him in his room for the entire one week as Dr Kalam wanted his brother to stay with him.
When they left, Dr Kalam wanted to pay rent for that room also.
Imagine the President of a country paying rent for the room in which he is staying.
This was any way not agreed to by the staff who thought the honesty was getting too much to handle!!!.
5. When Kalam Sir was to leave Rashtrapathi Bhavan at the end of his tenure, every staff member went and met him and paid their respects.
Mr Nair went to him alone as his wife had fractured her leg and was confined to bed. Dr Kalam asked why his wife did not come. He replied that she was in bed due to an accident.
Next day, Mr.Nair saw lot of policemen around his house and asked what had happened.
They said that the President of India was coming to visit him in his house. He came and met his wife and chatted for some time.
Mr Nair says that no president of any country would visit a civil servant's house and that too on such a simple pretext.
I thought I should give the details as many of you may not have seen the telecast and so it may be useful.
The younger brother of APJ Abdul Kalam runs an umbrella repairing shop.
When Mr. Nair met him during Kalam’s funeral, he touched his feet, in token of respect for both Mr. Nair and Brother.
Such information should be widely shared on social media as mainstream media will not show this because it doesn't carry the so-called GB TRP
The property left behind by Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam was estimated.
_
He owned
6 pants(2 DRDO uniforms)
4 shirts(2 DRDO uniforms)
3 suits (1 western, 2 Indian)
2500 books
1 flat (which he has donated)
1 Padmashri
1 Padmabhushan
1 Bharat Ratna
16 doctorates
1 website
1 twitter account
1 email id
He didn't have any TV, AC, car, jewellery, shares, land or bank balance.
He had even donated the last 8 years' pension towards the development of his village.
He was a real patriot and true Indian
India will for ever be grateful to you, sir.

Dear @mipaltan
I feel lucky that a small account like mine'a voice potentially has reached the top management at MI and so as a genuine well wisher of MI I would be doing great disservice if I do not put forward my honest views now.
This is potentially my last twitter post on MI until I see a change and until I see them playing for the badge again. It is high time I look after my well being because being too passionate about your team also takes a lot out of you as a human.
This is not from an MI fan who got attracted to this franchise because Rohit Sharma won trophies with them. This is from a fan who has been with the team even when they failed in 13 out of 18 seasons and who will always be with them no matter what. This is from someone who supported a team that had fighters like James Franklin, Aiden Blizzard, Sarul Kanwar, Jayasuriya, Abu Nechim, Ambari Rayudu, Aditya Tare, Lendl Simmons, Mitch McClenaghan, etc. Was always there for support no matter where we finished.
You chose Hardik to replace Rohit, we supported.
You chose to release Pollard and then release his replacement Tim David too, we supported.
You chose to make blunders in decision making for past several seasons, we still supported.
You chose to go into IPL 2026 auction with almost no purse showing extra confidence on players like Deepak Chahar when you knew that those 9 crore would help us strengthen key areas, we still supported.
But we draw the line when players show from their body language that they don't really feel like playing for the badge and that it is all fun and games even if we lose..it is okay it is chill..nah sorry.
Same mistakes, no sensing of moments that could turn the game and not turning on the screws was again seen vs SRH. 243 had to be 270..and then when you took 3 wickets in 4 runs you had to try and knock over Klaasen. But again dropping shoulders in Powerplay and then post those 3 wickets..Bumrah looked so tired it hurt us all.
When you feel nothing can get worse than RCB loss, Punjab came, then CSK came, then SRH. The word fortress has become a joke for Wankhede.
When Rohit became the captain, no one knew how it would end up, but atleast he had the passion for the badge when he said "Teams should fear while coming to play MI at Wankhede." Yesterday I saw the same man holding his head in disappointment looking at what had happened to the Kingdom he built brick by brick..all this just hours before his birthday. Does someone who brought so much success to your franchise deserve this? Do your fans deserve this?
Even during 2022 Wooden spoon season we got so many special moments like defending 9 runs vs GT, that RCB post requesting us to beat DC, the rise of Tilak, Brevis and Tim David. We are not behind trophies we are behind making memories with players who know what playing for the badge means.
We have pivoted away from picking players who can fight for the badge, to now picking players who are just shiny toys, not caring about team and squad balance. We were never a side historically that depended on individual brilliance but that is exactly what happened last season when SKY's Orange Cap and Bumrah's purple patch covered all the cracks.
You will need to earn this fan back MI, not with results, just with the desire that the players want to play for the badge. Gave 19 years to this team and the support during 14 of them where we won nothing was equally passionate.
It is high time I look after myself and my health because maybe Sport was the only source of happiness for now. Very tough to weather the storms in life and then turn up supporting a team that does not know to play with passion.
I don't recognize my club anymore. Hope I do one day, hope this all changes one day. Will always bleed blue, but for now from a distance.
Can you win this fan back with your cricket? Can you make tough calls to take MI back to glory days? Time will tell. For now, it is a pause from my end.
-From a part of your dear Paltan 💙🙏🏻
