@TomPrescott85 @RupertLowe10 Couldnnt stay overnight, only until 10pm.If they had the provision of camp beds/a room where dads could stay, itwould have been great. I agree they can fend for themselves when it comes to food and drinks etc. But its a small change that could make a big difference to some.

@TomPrescott85 @RupertLowe10 I think youre right that there isnt blame to be had here, but improving the provision in many hospitals would definitely help and ease the burden on already overstretched midwives and nurses. Our local hospital, if you happened to he on the general post natal ward dads 1/2

Giving birth is obviously an incredibly challenging experience for the mother - trust me, nobody is denying that. I do think though, that fathers should be shown more respect by the NHS during the whole process. No food provided, no basic bedding, nothing. The father is having a child too - potentially staying multiple nights, sleeping on the floor or a chair? If the NHS can find hundreds of millions for translation/interpretation and the rest of the diversity bullshit, then surely a few campbeds in each ward isn't such an impossible investment? A bowl of pasta for the dad, who does actually pay for that meal through his own taxes? I've asked the Department of Health to reconsider their approach. It would be nice if fathers weren't treated as some awkward afterthought, during the process and so often across wider society. Let's give dads the respect they deserve.

@TomPrescott85 @RupertLowe10 On the flip side, if a father can stay then the midwives may have to help less to support mum as dad will be there to share night feeds and changes, sterilise bottles, look after baby while mum sleeps etc. Pros and cons both ways

@RupertLowe10 After having four, staying differing lengths on all of them, I think the way they do it is correct. It’s evident there isn’t enough staff to look after the mothers, that’s not the NHS fault, they don’t have the time or budget to look after the fathers / birthing partners too.

The PL want a 12 point deduction for Everton for one charge. Man City are going to end up in the National League North if the PL get their way!! Unbelievable the amount of stories that come out about Everton’s situation, but Man City’s, which has 114 more charges & has gone on for much longer, has gone very quiet🤔
John Percy@JPercyTelegraph

Premier League demands 12-point deduction as maximum punishment if Everton are found guilty of breaching financial rules. Important to note that final decision will be made by an independent commission. Everton maintain they have complied with the rules telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/…

@FanHubHatter @D0bryDan @SkySportsNews Tbf if they replayed all the matches where the refs make obvious errors on black and white (not subjective) decisions, they might start making less of them 😂. This season has honestly been shocking for so many when it's come to bad reffing decisions.

@D0bryDan @SkySportsNews That opens up a can of worms. You could argue that every game with a refereeing error should be replayed.

Liverpool have vowed to "explore the range of options available" after claiming sporting integrity was undermined after Luis Diaz's goal was ruled out against Tottenham for what the PGMOL described as "significant human error".

Shame on you @NICEComms. Agreeing that healthcare professionals can offer pseudoscientific pain relief to women in labour is nothing short of a scandal. Shame on you. New NICE intrapartum guidelines nice.org.uk/guidance/ng235 1/

@drericksonspine 2/2 (even older people who use it regularly so are "practiced at it"). I can read and write curisve but I get why people don't, and tbh I don't use it 🤷🏻‍♀️. And even small traders and self employed people all take card or bank transfer here

@drericksonspine Honestly, Im not surprised. I'm 30, I've never written a cheque, if I order anything for a friend I get it delivered directly ot I wrap it and hand it to them, if I want to say thank you for something I send a text message. And most people's cursive is quote difficult to read 1/2

Talking with my sons in their 20s. I just found out they don’t know how to: - mail a letter - write a check - send a package - write in cursive “Nobody in our generation does that stuff” Y’all, this is wild. Just me?
