@zarahsultana Israel is indeed a democracy and a shine to all the nations. Strip your hatred and warped analogy and misinformation and some truth may emerge.

Andy Burnham voted for the Iraq War, an illegal war that killed over a million people. As Health Secretary, he helped drive NHS privatisation. He joined Labour Friends of Israel, opposed BDS as “spiteful”, praised Israel as a “democracy”, and called the Balfour Declaration “British values in action”. He is a Zionist. Stop pretending he’s a radical alternative, he’s more of the same.

I can confirm that I will be requesting the permission of the NEC to stand in the Makerfield by-election. I grew up in this area and have lived here for 25 years. I care deeply about it and its people. I know they have been let down by national politics. Ten years ago, I decided to leave Westminster. Why? Because, after 16 years, I came to the conclusion that our national political system does not work for areas like ours. I learnt this fighting its failure to invest in the Wigan borough, for justice for the Hillsborough families and against its treatment of Greater Manchester during the pandemic. Over the last decade, I have been challenging this failure from the outside and building a new and better way of doing politics. We have built Greater Manchester into the fastest-growing city-region in the UK and put buses back under public control, introducing a £2 fare cap to help people with cost-of-living pressures. However, there is only so much that can be done from Greater Manchester. Much bigger change is needed at a national level if everyday life is to be made more affordable again. This is why I now seek people’s support to return to Parliament: to bring the change we have brought to Greater Manchester to the whole of the UK and make politics work properly for people. Millions are struggling and they need the Labour Government to succeed. It has already made changes to make life better for them in its first two years. After this week, we owe it to people to come back together as a Labour movement, giving the Prime Minister and the Government the space and stability they need as the by-election takes place. I want to recognise the difficult decision taken by Josh Simons and the sacrifice he and his family are making. I have worked closely with him as Mayor on issues like flooding and illegal waste dumping and have seen first-hand how effective he has been. He has put the communities of Makerfield first, made a real difference for them and should take great pride in that. Finally, I truly do not take a single vote for granted and will work hard to regain the trust of people in the Makerfield constituency, many of whom have long supported our party but lost faith in recent times. We will change Labour for the better and make it a party you can believe in again. ENDS

@CallumLyon So the question is why are we bothering? I've worked my whole life but now I feel like I'm just working to pay everyone else, why don't we all just stop and say fck it? If we keep doing what we are doing we'll get what we always get.

We've reached the point in the UK where working full time doesn't actually mean anything anymore. It used to mean stability. It used to mean you could afford a home, eat properly, maybe go away once a year and not panic if your car made a weird noise. Now it just means nothing. You wake up early, work all day, come home tired, and still somehow sit there wondering how you're going afford everything. Rent is ridiculous. Bills are constant. Food prices change depending on the mood of the supermarket. And wages? Basically frozen in time. You're not lazy. You're not bad with money. You're just trying to survive in a system where everything goes up except what you get paid.

@PhilipProudfoot What does a fundamentalist Muslim have in common with a progressive liberal? Fuck all. They are using you like they used Labour. Idiots. They don’t share your views on abortion, marriage, gays, apostasy, literally anything. They are the opposite of everything you say.

@blacknredtext Made in the image of God, He gave us a portion of his ability to create, imagine and transcend. That and also we’ve been lied to about a lot. Christian countries invented and advanced everything. 🤷🏻‍♂️ not a coincidence

Parliament has passed the UK’s Tobacco and Vapes Bill to create the first smoke-free generation. From 2027 the legal age to buy cigarettes and tobacco will rise by one year every single year. Anyone born on or after 1 January 2009 will never be legally able to purchase them in their lifetime. Current adult smokers are completely unaffected, this only targets future generations.

I seriously don't understand how people concerned with other people's health but living under an authoritarian dictatorship doesn't register as a health threat in the long run? Like how does that not trigger alarm bells in someones brain but someone else smoking does? Humanity is f#@&ed.

This comic really makes it clear how it feels being where I live right now. I can't change the fact that I'm black, and the people that take issue with that will see it immediately. I can't change the fact that I've been legally diagnosed with autism, and the people in charge have access to that. There is one thing I can do to keep myself safe though. 🙃

@sparky_jpeg @nhan_tnt @lunarleahhhhh I have studied Islam way more than you. Sunni Muslims don't just follow the Qur'an, they also follow hadith, tafsir, etc. You fell for the biggest lie and contradiction in Islam that there is no compulsion in religion. Funny that you didn't cite surah 9 to fight disbelievers.

@Amockx2022 Lebanons government is on Israel’s side you clown 🙈 they’re hitting hezbola not Lebanon. Even the Lebanese government has told hezbola to lay down its weapons and disarm. The Arab countries are all on America and Israel’s side in this. They don’t want terrorists either 👍🏿

Just tell me, WHY? 🤯 > Iran 🇮🇷 gets hit by two superpowers > It loses kids, infrastructure and leaders > The US agreed for ceasefire > Israel 🇮🇱 attacked Lebanon > Iran called it violation of ceasefire > Iran gets ready to fight for Lebanon without any self interest > Iran reached Pakistan with one aim of stopping attack on Lebanon Now tell me, why none of the GCC countries could show such courage and spine against US or Israel for Lebanon? 😭 What Iran is doing should be a case study for humanity and generations to come

I am arguing for none. I am talking practically, based on my own experience. I have worked closely with people who write such reports which are mostly made up bs based on their bias. You can twist turn numbers based on your needs. What is burnout and exhaustion ? doing less in more hours or doing too much in less hours? Businesses can afford to let their employees work less hours but same employees will complain that they are doing too much in too little time. Customers will complain that business is not available all the time and have to wait up to 3 days to get replies sometime. - Think practically.

I saw a tweet saying the work week shouldn’t be more than 32 hours, and all the replies were like, “So you want eight hours less pay?” I’m BEGGING you all to think bigger and imagine a better world. I don’t know if you’ve considered this, but we could absolutely work less for the same pay. Everything is made up anyway.

@sparky_jpeg @rushicrypto You don’t understand. It’s a math equation. How much work will you do for me before you choose not to? That choice is yours. There is no exploitation. If you think you work too much for your pay you quit and get a different job.

See in many sectors we have dead hours, where workers are not doing pretty much anything. It actually help us slack work when we are not as productive as needed. These hours are already factored in. If you run a trial for short period then initially these workers are happy to get things done in shorter period of extra 1 day reward. So in essence productivity increased. Now as time passes, same workers will feel overworked because they are not feeling excited for that extra 1 day because they think its their right (like the way we treat weekends). Now they don't have slack time between mon-thur and they will feel overworked. Situation will get even worse then. Not only that but it will get worse for consumers too. Imagine calling a company for urgent need and automated message says call back after 3 days because we are closed.
