@Son_Lyme When Arsenal knock it's a bit like when Religious callers come to the door, everyone hides under the window and pretend to be out "quick Ethel get down it's the Goonos" 😂
English

@FabrizioRomano Not only did he let his fans down, he let himself down not to mention his poor English serving staff, Carson will forgive but he won't forget.

@davefranklin7 @J_Tanswell @avfc_david @David_Ornstein @TheAthleticFC Like all the best players he can turn a game and pull a rabbit out the hat, inconsistency is because he's still a young player with only 2 years top league experience. We should've put the not for sale sign up and stuck to it. We better get MGW sharpish.
English

@sparkym5 @J_Tanswell @avfc_david @David_Ornstein @TheAthleticFC Mate he’s inconsistent unplayable on his day without doubt but not world class yet no where near

New: Chelsea reach verbal agreement to sign Morgan Rogers from #AVFC. An offer of £117million has been accepted, with personal terms in place on a six-year contract.

Arsenal are increasingly confident of winning the race for Morgan Rogers after making a major breakthrough in talks with the Aston Villa star’s representatives, @TEAMtalk understands.

@Simon_Clemson Lots of interest in the market and we've paid a premium for that. He seems to me like a John Duran without a screw loose, he'll be worth double what we paid under Unais tutelage.

@JUSTIN_AVFC_ So irritating and if I read one more fake Fabrizio Romano 🚨 Here we go! post or someone telling me it's 98% done - the worst ones now are Spurs flakes telling us Morgan's open to a move to them, what on earth can they offer him apart from free Beyonce tickets?

@AVFCOfficial 🚨 Breaking Victor to Arsenal, terms agreed for their new winger 💯
English

@BookofAEGIS I just spoke to Nas and Wes at Villa they said £150m or £100m+Declan Rice. For straight cash they'll offer you a full sized Europa League replica trophy to put on display for fans to take photos with in your club shop.
English

If I'm negotiating on behalf of Arsenal (#afc) for Rogers I'm offering them Nwaneri + £££ and structuring a deal around that for Villa (#avfc)
Why?
Nwaneri is a top quality talent but he's not getting the games, he's behind too many of our players and loaning him is delaying the inevitable. He'd do bits if given a run of games and a manager who trusts him.
English

@GuillemBalague I would simply draw comparison with mens tennis, we are Andy Murray we've got all the guts and the shots but we need to play to our 100% maximum to beat Djokovic, Nadal or Federer. It will happen. Hands up Messi and Enzo had us on strings 2nd half that was the difference.

This should be time for reflection for England, so for what is worth let me share with you a take from someone who is not English but knows English football culture perfectly having played many years in the Premier League
You might agree or disagree, but it links to what Tuchel said about the team being passive. And if there is a hint of truth in it, maybe responsability should be taken beyond the coach, and even beyond the changing room (maybe the excess of confidence entering the game, the difficulty to see problems when victories come, the abusive search for culprits, all those things that we have seen in the past are also partly to blame)
Here it goes:
"Guillem, I can't help repeating something I've told you before: England can never truly function as a team because they don't understand the word "solidarity" or the concept of collective football.
They always freeze when the decisive moment comes. They go out of every major tournament (World Cup or Euros) in the same way: not just losing, but making a mess of it. They always freeze when the decisive moment comes.
There's a historical pattern. At some point in the game they abandon each other. Every player starts looking after himself, trying to save his own skin.
Today they left the goalkeeper completely exposed. They all disappeared from the game, almost as if they were trying to avoid being singled out.
Can you say who was at fault for the goals? Exactly. The best thing for them is that no individual gets blamed. Collectively, they were responsible.
Everyone goes home relieved that it won't all fall on John or James. That it will all fall on Tuchel.
Meanwhile, Messi can hardly run, yet he spent the entire second half happily playing on the edge of the box. Enzo, too, kept finding space to shoot from the edge of the area — his trademark — until one finally went in.
An absolute disaster."
Should we discuss?
English

@AVFCOfficial We got beat by a better team fair and square, no point in hating our Goalkeeper for it just scroll on.

@lukefrxst @avfc_david Possibly the most Aston Villa thing since David Unsworth signed in 98 then left a few days later when his wife realised where Birmingham was on a map.
