These Cormac McCarthy papers that the Wittliff just acquired are fascinating. None of the early drafts of Blood Meridian have Judge Holden in them. Also, in the middle of notes to himself, Cormac inserts little prayers: “God speed your love to me.”

When @RepLuna asked me about this film after talking to Watters, I told her it is NOT secret. It is NOT a definitive piece of evidence. It is NOT important to the JFK research community. I advised her to drop it. I hope NBC will someday clear the air by making available a high-res scan of the original Darnell and Wegmen films. In my testimony to the House Task on Tuesday, I will be talking about--and sharing for the first time--a rather more important new JFK evidence to emerge: the CIA's complete pre-assassination file on Lee Harvey Oswald.
