@PremSportsTV @sbk I don't know what he thinks he's seen. There's such a thing as being too close to a challenge and this is exactly what can happen if you are.
English

A straight red for Fede Valverde has Real Madrid down to 10 men 🟥
The twists and turns keep coming in this game 👀

@benforbesmalone Congratulations mate. Have you been an assistant in a supply league game or similar? I think that would be my starting point.
English

@ShiellB1 @grassrootsrefJa Yeah, but we're all saying how great it was to catch it. So in a way they have gotten away with one. That said, VAR would've caught it.
English

@grassrootsrefJa And yet Alan Smith claimed Sunderland had “possibly got away with one”. How these idiots are paid to talk about football is beyond me.
English

Great decision by Anthony Taylor and his assistant referee. The attacker is clearly in an offside position and impacting the goalkeeper by being in front of him and looks like he is backing into the goalkeeper #NEWSUN
English

@WhistleBlowerDK Now that @DaleJohnsonBBC is working for the BBC, I'd hoped they'd take advantage and educate this buffoon.
English

Don’t see Shearer having actual conversations with active referees though…
Just spouts opinion with no knowledge, context, or perspective.
The Football Terrace@TFTerraceMedia
Man Utd Were ROBBED! "The standards are the worst we’ve seen" ❌ 📺 @alanshearer on how VAR has led to a “terrible” standard of refereeing
English

@robbo32 @WhistleBlowerDK That's the SAOT everyone was clammering for. I happen to agree with you that the graphics are horrendous, but if it's what all clubs and the league wanted and it was available, what can you do?
English

@spaulinnit @WhistleBlowerDK That’s the point the VAR graphic above proves nothing!! A ball floating in mid air no evidence of it being played and look at the side difference between VARs graphic and the tv screen shot
English

@robbo32 @WhistleBlowerDK How do you know that's the frame used by the VAR? The broadcaster doesn't know. They just give you what they think VAR may have used. They've got it wrong before.
English

@WhistleBlowerDK 5cm!?!?…..look at his foot placings compared to VARs Graphic….chose clip to suit narrative?🤷♂️
English

@CrewsMat10 How do you know? They look at everything btw. They obviously cleared it very quickly.
English

@YazzLFC To impede would mean to hold or move in the way of. There's nothing illegal about a player having his hands out in front of him to protect his space. For it to have been a foul, he would've had to have pushed him. A player backing into a player with arms out can look like a push.
English

Get rid of VAR and give agency back to referees. This run up is absolutely ridiculous.

14/14 penalties scored in the #PL. And this one meant more. 🤍
English

@grassrootsrefJa Can I just say that Alan Smith is one of the best co-commentators on the planet. Such a respectful man. The game needs more people like him.
English

Brilliant decision in real time from Anthony Taylor and his assistant to get this right and great teamwork. Will Alan Shearer come out and praise the officials for this decision or will he ignore it as usual as it goes against his anti-ref agenda? #NEWSUN

Newcastle's Malick Thiaw has a goal disallowed after Jacob Murphy is caught offside! ❌
English

@dancpfc14 @Rootz_TV It depends. If he's already taken ages over taking the corner, it's going to be immediately seen as delaying the restart. However, I agree with you that he should have held the whistle to see what happened.
English

@spaulinnit @Rootz_TV They don’t engage they brain for 2 seconds
He done nothing wrong here
English

@hollupo @WhistleBlowerDK Most of the broadcast cameras are 50fps with a 10ms shutter speed, but yes, either way, a huge margin of error.
English

@WhistleBlowerDK With 100fps cams, movement of ball/foot hard, to identify exactly when the ball is touched -> much error, probably higher margin of error, about 20-30 cm.
English

@FutOffsides @VirgilDanDijk4 So you think you've got the actual frame of the kick point. You don't and you can't. The frame rate and shutter speed of the cameras don't allow you to. That's why there's a margin of error.
English

@VirgilDanDijk4 This is still offside according to the Laws of the Game, which supposedly still apply in England.
The fact that the Premier League prefers to let offside goals count doesn't negate the fact that this is an illegal goal.
English

@dancpfc14 @Rootz_TV They really don't. Players give referees decisions to make.
English

@Footballtweet Impossible to tell from a picture. Show a full speed video.
English

@razefc @RhysCarefree @SkySportsPL Have you played football? That's the correct thing to do. Put yourself between the ball and the defender by moving across to shield. It's a bog standard move and if a defender clips the player, it's a foul. Would you like me to post a tutorial for you?
English

@spaulinnit @RhysCarefree @SkySportsPL He’s gone down because he jumped across the defender, it’s not that hard to understand
English

@SocExpFlakeFC @Godwinuchm @BBCMOTD That's not true. I have seen them take about 3 minutes to find a perfect angle which showed a very clear and obvious error. Bear in mind there are 30 to 40 cameras. The broadcaster will show at most 3. What we see is not what they're looking at.
English

@spaulinnit @Godwinuchm @BBCMOTD Checking all the angles doesn't take long, it's the very first thing they do. The long delay comes from them fiddling about with the best angle they have. When they could draw 1 line for an offside and say "Is it conclusive? No, on field decision stands".
English
