@flickhwilliams It's not a punishment. UC is need based. Universal Credit savings thresholds are £6k (lower limit) and £16k (upper limit). Savings under £6k are ignored. Savings between £6k and £16k = deduction of £4.35 per month for every £250 over £6k. Savings over £16k make you ineligible.
