@GeneW22614687 Here. Numbers are not exact, but in general. Veteran at 100% = 3106.04 Veteran at 90% = 1862.93 Difference is $1243.08 Number of Veterans at 100% = 250,000 The figure if they "kill" or reduce all 100% Vets? $310,770,000 per month Y'all think this is about some virus or meds?

@BethDarnall @Paladin634 Much of the appointment is spent entering data on computer. You talk, but nobody is home. There's no interaction with the Veteran. At least part of that data entry is for the next Vet, so Doc knows what to tell them.

People with chronic pain need support from the medical community: - Listen - Recognize pain is an individual experience - Validate all pain as real - Connect to treatment & support therapies - Do not force taper opioids in stable patients

@BethDarnall @Paladin634 This is not something you can do with the VA. They're taught what they are allowed to say & hear. Pain in the Vet community has been boiled down to a single, applicable standard. Treatment and Support therapies are set to a minimum. Can't even GET opioids, even when stable.

What is chronic pain? It can be easily defined as pain lasting longer than expected and serving no neurobiological purpose. Arguments occur over the length of time the pain must exist before it qualifies as chronic pain. I think everyone would agree that pain lasting >6 months...
