Ah yes I almost forgot this exists since nobody ever talks about it. The one week when MSC feel appreciated by looking at a picture of the boss' face on social media. Thank you, feeling warm and fuzzy inside already and it's only Monday of #NationalVolunteersWeek2024

@specials_101 I get a £7.50 boots allowance per quarter if I hit an hours volunteered qualification threshold. So in 7 years and 9 months I would have enough to buy a pair of Altberg Peacekeepers at £169.99 At least it’s something I guess. More than some.

Almost a year later, I managed to kickstart 1 of the 50 project proposals I was given by young and eager engineers. Project is in place now to develop a lightweight breathable body armour with lumbar support preventing lower back pain. If only I had the resources for the rest.

Clips on social media of the Southall public order incident highlight how essential it is that all Level 3 officers get proper refresher training. Certain clips seems extremely unprofessional and unsafe.

@sc_survey @MPSSpecials I appreciate that. And certain people are making an effort to change. Sadly any satisfaction survey we do is skewed because those who are unhappy have left the force and won't be in the survey. Oh well data is powerful, you're doing great work here!

@specials_101 @MPSSpecials are a quarter of the national SC body. Due to the sheer volume of SCs they're probably quite unwieldy to manage, so some things aren't always perfect. PSOS have a similar problem due to geographical distribution.

@obbsie Exactly, I agree. But like anything controversial, media are all over it, it's everywhere and people ill-equipped to talk about it are making comments on behalf of our police force. I hate it so much.

@UB1UB2 He's not stopping tourist from taking pictures. Public must move behind the bollards during the change of guards so they don't get trampled on by a horse.. I don't see what the big deal is, it happens several times a day.
