AI is enabling companies to ship earlier than ever. Small cos are selling to Fortune 500s. And they're ready to buy! But these deals constantly hit roadblocks because the AI ecosystem hasn't figured out how to build a *language around trust*.
Rune Kvist@RuneKvist

To accelerate AI adoption, we need an AI standard. What Moody’s is for bonds, FICO for credit, SOC 2 for security. Standards offer credible signals of who to trust. They create confidence. Confidence accelerates adoption. Introducing AIUC-1: the world’s first AI agent standard

With so many founders in fundraising mode this week, I thought I'd share my top fundraising tips from having raised $9M+ across 2 startups. 💸 This is just what has worked for me, take it with a grain of salt (like all startup advice!):

Diary Of An Entrepreneur Series continued... Day 185: - 8 hours straight of calls today but it has been SO incredible with a ton of lightbulb moments & plans falling into place - Had a long call with an entrepreneur friend who's dealing with one of those "is this the end of my company?" crisis moments that I'm sure a lot of us have been through - Those moments suck & are absolutely brutal in terms of the emotional and psychological weight. But I think they're also important "rites of passage" in the entrepreneurial journey that allow us to level up - Started the day with our @HamptonFounders core call where I shared my personal & professional goals for 2024: Professional: Learn how to be a true CEO & improve my delegation, management & leadership Personal: Allow myself to just "be" and not always push to squeeze everything out of myself - The "MIT" (most important thing) question that I brought up was to understand what mindset shifts & behaviours I need to make in order to execute on our 2024 roadmap as a "true CEO" instead of a founder/entrepreneur/individual contributor mentality - A couple amazing takeaways: 1. Shift my mindset to not "do the work" myself ever so I'm fully committed to delegating, managing & leading only 2. A CEO's job IS to create a "chain reaction" of work for my team through vision, direction, initiatives & setting priorities 3. Starting the practice of Friday memos to consistently communicate vision, direction & values to my team - Had an amazing 2024 roadmap planning call with @RachylNeidecker as we're finalizing our goals, initiatives & milestones - One of the best things that we align on each year is whether it's an "Investment" year or a "Growth" year for the business - Investment years are years where we're just focused on building new products, investing in the team, rebuilding foundations etc to invest in a more sustainable, scalable, profitable future - Growth years are when we're "harvesting" the fruits of our labor and focusing completely on expansion, revenue & profit - It's important for us to align on what the year is for because it's almost like two totally different ways of operating the business - Investment years are like focusing more on "defense" which means running lean, being super conservative etc. - Growth years are like focusing more on "offense" which means being really aggressive, moving fast, taking bigger swings etc. - I've found if we try to do both at the same time, neither is done particularly well & my team is confused on priorities - Also had an awesome partnership call with @spellboundio 🥳 more exciting things coming! - Had an exciting sales call with a high 8-figure brand we're pumped to bring on. They came in through an employee who had worked with us at a previous client's business - This has actually become a major source of leads for us (employees switching companies & bringing us back in) which is a testament to all of the operations/partnership work that we do - Had a great catch up call with @joemechlinski & picked his brain on book publishing as we're putting together our game plan on that #diaryofanentrepreneur If you're liking this series, follow me @jjesschan to follow along & start from the beginning here 👇 x.com/jjesschan/stat…

Last but not least, Sleep Doctor had a quick email about healthy snacks to eat before bedtime. Rather than making the email super long, they used our image carousel feature to show which foods were best. Not to mention the boost in clicks from including the carousel 👍

Imagine you walk into a Sephora. The choices? Overwhelming. So many options with minimal context about how to use. Just as you're leaving, a team member asks: "How can I help?" Why am I talking about this? It's what quizzes do for your DTC brand ⬇️

Customers want to stay in their inbox. They're clearing out unread messages. Scared to click external links. Yet brands keep sending emails with a button that clicks out to read a guide, blog or branded content piece. Pro tip: embed it in your emails! Here's an example:
