Some thoughts on the market as we head into a significant weekend: $QQQ came within -0.25% of the 200sma $SPY came within -0.40% of 200sma $VIX still struggling at a previous big rejection zone I get that everyone is super bearish with 'boots on the ground' news we got today, but no true technical damage done if you zoom out a bit. $SPY $QQQ still trading 1.5-2% above Oct/Nov lows and bearish sentiment is roaring from what I have seen on my timeline. I used the last 2 hours of today's session to accumulate a relatively significant long position in $NQ and $SPX April calls w/ a few higher risk calls for 3/20 exp. I'm a bit scared entering these longs but perhaps this is what buying fear looks like... Is 'boots on the ground' somewhat priced in for the weekend? No idea. But I do know that a single tweet or headline could cause a serious $VIX crush and puts are EXPENSIVE! A short covering rally could absolutely rip faces while not changing the overall distributive structure this market is building. Maybe I'll regret posting this, but I'd much rather take a shot at longs here than get bearish right into the 200sma, and this risk has the potential to pay out big IMO so I'm playing!
