@pickleball_jim Dylan is good but having him doesn’t guarantee a win against the shock men. Hes never been an amazing mixed player so Gabe and Kate still easily the favored team there. So yes the chances of beating the shock marginally increase. And everyone has said the franchise tag stuff lol

You believe Frazier over Freeman gives LA a “marginally” better chance to win? Seriously? You just threw away any credibility with that statement. As to the franchise tag freezing out some trades, I have written that exact statement before, thanks for quoting my stuff. But, it depends on the numbers. If the franchise tag is 400k, as rumored (it should be higher), then tagging Fed is a bad move. There will be A LOT of good men available next year. If Orlando is smart, you get $ for Fed this year, and you spend it on women next year. Getting good women is the key to winning. Fed, as good as he is, is replaceable and at reasonable cost. Top women are irreplaceable, and it takes a lot of $ to get them.

I have heard from another player than Dylan Frazier has been traded to California for a rumored 100k. Kudos to California for being a second division team that is still trying to win as much as they can. Dylan if motivated may be enough to get CAL into the top 12. Now will we see Fed to LA?????? If LA passes on Dylan (he was offered to them and they said no) and gets Fed, that’s a good move. If they passed on Dylan and don’t get Fed, then I don’t know what to tell you. Other than Dallas would have competition for worst decision ever in MLP history.

@JimmyMiller_PB @RossChaifetz I just think for MLP to be successful, there needs to be a pathway for lesser teams to be competitive. I also think something needs to be done that keeps the lower level teams from simply trading their best/potential building block players for cash.

Despite the delivery by @RossChaifetz. I do think he probably has a right to be frustrated if MLP changes its league structure. Like every sport you have owners that spend and owners that don’t. The ones who do, should gain a competitive advantage. For the last three years, The Shock, Mad Drops, Fives, Brooklyn have all spent a lot of money to try and build their brands, the league and to win. While other teams used Amazon basics for their team jerseys. So I can understand the frustration when they are told, “hey we are discussing a salary cap to make the teams who haven’t spent as much more competitive. But we appreciate your efforts the last 3 years!” However, long term this is much better for the league as a whole and I suggest all the owners read the book “The League” and look at the sacrifices the early NFL owners made for the betterment of the league and not just their individual teams. Because there are a lot of parallels to MLP. The Mara family knew they couldn’t be the only ones making or spending money for the NFL to be sustainable. They let other teams play in NY knowing thats where the largest fan base was. Even though it cost them money. And with all that being said, you come at me with a stray, I am firing back with a bazooka. Even though I actually like Ross :)

@NicoTheLefty I think everyone has won a game against a better player that had a bad day....you don't then get to say yeah i'm better than them. That isn't evidence, thats an anomaly.

@CLIPSLEO32 @itsAntWright Like i said...last summer at Illinois he got tons of hype, then the first exhibition game against a d3 school, he looked like the 150th rank freshman recruit...then he figured it out. He didn't get any stronger or faster..he just got used to how the game was being played.

@spiffy21 @itsAntWright It’s not that he was missing shots, or getting turnovers or making mistakes…it’s that he can’t even dribble past g leaguers even while using screens. He’s slow and no amount of training can get him past that genetic barrier . That is concerning but it is only one game so…

I mapped out all 230 @MajorLeaguePB regular season pool play matches to see who is playing whom... This includes ALL events because the pools have been published through the end of the season. This is what I found: - The @Breakers_MLP only play 12 unique opponents and are missing out on playing 7 teams this year - The @UtahBlkDiamonds only play 13 unique opponents and are not playing 6 teams this year AND they play the @lamaddrops 4x - that is not a typo - @the5spickleball and @stlshockmlp only play another top 3 team 1x in the entire regular season pool play - @Breakers_MLP, Carolina Hogs, @chicagoslicemlp, @pbroyals, @RanchersPB, and @UtahBlkDiamonds all play top 3 teams FIVE TIMES each - @brooklynpickleb and @CbusSliders play bottom 6 ranked teams 10x each (@pbroyals play bottom 6 9x) - While that is happening, @Breakers_MLP and the @LVNightOwlsMLP only play bottom 6 teams 4x each Also, if we wanted the schedule as even as possible, every team would play every other team once, while playing four teams 2x. There are 23 regular season pool play matches for each team. Out of all 20 teams' schedules, only ONE TEAM has this "perfectly fair" schedule - The @RanchersPB - they play everyone once and play four teams twice What are your thoughts? What other stats stick out to you?

🚨MLP Trade Deadline Moved to July 12 at 8pm ET🚨 The MLP Trade Deadline has moved back two weeks. The 12th is the last day of the Mid-Season Tournament. The previous deadline was June 30th.

@ChrisCaliSNS I think the fact that 70% of the teams are essentially tanking but unlike other sports where teams tank…tanking in mlp is just a fundraiser and the team itself doesn’t actually improve for the future…just makes it hard to really care to much about a league like that.

I might be alone on this, but I think players staying on a team is more impactful for building fans than parity Some of the best moments from this year are from players that are no longer with that team What effect does that have the team’s fans?

Dug in to this Grayson Goldin/Casey Diamond situation. League has done this before in extreme situstions: Ross Whittaker, AJ Koller and Zoey Weil have all come in off the sidelines at previous events, when a team is essentially out of players due to injury or illness. We almost saw it in Dallas back in 2024 when Meghan Dizon took a JW overhead to the dome. Yana Newell came in and warmed up before Meghan was able to continue. That was back in the Brooks Wiley days and against Samins team! So this has been a thing for a long time. Remember Ross was signed literally the morning of the Columbus event last year. Rumors are Grayson is still dealing with some effects of his stroke. And tbh if he is a “healthy scratch”, that actually reflects more poorly on Palm Beach as a franchise. Than the league. Who would want to play for a team that casts a player aside mid-event? Bad precedent to set if that was the case. I will give both sides the benefit of the doubt here. The league signing top APP players is also never a bad thing.

@Pickle_Verse The league needs some sort of salary or draft cap, otherwise some of these billionaires could just spend ridiculous amounts to get a team like AB + ALW + Ben + Gabe, which would just make MLP as lobsided/uninteresting as PPA
