Our students are not only learning about dances from around the world but they are also using teamwork, collaboration, and synergy to create their own movement with music experiences! Self-expression is an important and valuable part of our program 😃

Giving kids feedback and a grade is important but having them reflect on their own learning is even more crucial.

Wednesday la are for Math in the News. Teams worked hard to solve the Super Bowl related problems.

Math & Reading together? Yes, please! Sts. enjoyed reading @NatGeo magazines, finding cool fact and turning them into a word problems.

I am amazed when I see how creative my 4th graders can be when solving problems! This student made his own way to multiply showing their number sense and flexible thinking.

I enjoyed the guests, but it’s good to have @evanbirnholz back!

Fourth graders explored fractions and renaming them using pattern blocks. Loved seeing the collaboration to work problems out!

@evanbirnholz Congrats! That’s really impressive! Mine was getting my one and only correct answer in one guess.

My mundane year-end accomplishment is that I *finally* reached more three-word correct Wordles than four-word ones. Took me almost two years and the four-word Wordles once had like a 32-point lead, but the comeback is complete! Hoping I get an ESPY for this, a guy can dream.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so students made a table that would fit a big turkey and all the trimmings. 🦃

Fourth graders reviewed how/when to use their Safe & Quiet place tool. They drew pictures so they can visualize their places.

Give One Take One Strategy in 5th Grade Math. After the activity students shared: “It was good to hear what patterns other people saw that I hadn't” “I liked that I had an idea, I heard a new one and we thought of another one together!” @mrshuyck @WilsonWimsSDT

Lots of excitement in math as students tried to escape Module 1! They all escaped and the first ones took a 🏆 (mini 🏆)
