🥇The first turbine at East Anglia THREE is now in place! It’s also a record-breaker - the first to be installed with 115m blades in UK waters.
It’s a defining moment for us at SPR and our partner @Masdar, as we move towards completion on the £4bn, 1.4GW windfarm later this year.

🚢 Offshore construction at our biggest-ever renewables project is officially underway! 🏗️
The first of 95 monopile foundations that will form the basis of our East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm is now in place.
Standing at almost 84m tall and weighing around 1,800 tonnes, this monopile also represents a new offshore wind industry record – becoming the largest installed from a jack-up vessel in Europe to date.

🚢 We’ve published a new study in partnership with Stillstrom by Maersk exploring the feasibility and benefits of integrating battery-powered Service Operation Vessels (E-SOVs) into offshore windfarm operations.
🔋 It finds that SOV electrification is technically feasible and competitive with traditional marine gas oil-fueled vessels - and could deliver a host of other economic and operational benefits.

🌊 Understanding the potential impacts of offshore wind development on marine birds is a critical part of our work. This week marks the start of a new phase of study by the Offshore Wind Strategic Monitoring and Research Forum and @JNCC_UK .
Phase III will continue to tackle issues related to UK offshore wind development across the UK, aiming to identify evidence gaps and high-priority research to improve understanding of ecological impacts on marine bird populations.

It was a pleasure to welcome Energy Secretary @Ed_Miliband and @Jess4Lowestoft to the home and heart of our UK offshore wind operations in Lowestoft to learn more about our multibillion-pound projects and their impact on the East Anglia region💚
The Secretary was given a tour of the East Anglia ONE base by our operations team, spent time chatting to staff and apprentices and discussed our £8m expansion plans for a further O&M facility to serve EA3.
