I was young in the 80s/90s in the UK. I don’t remember my parents ever going out to eat, except when we were on holiday (in the UK). I don’t think they ever took me to a fast food restaurant, or ordered takeaway food. People today have no clue how working people lived. /1

This is an independent coffee shop this morning in Camden Passage, Islington. A perfect location, beautifully done inside, friendly service from the actual owner and yet there’s only me and one other person here. The big chains like Starbucks etc are rammed with people. So next time you moan there are only awful chain coffee shops everywhere, giving terrible service from staff who don’t care and no independents, look at yourself and where you spend your money.

It's always something... Today we are mocking a mom because she's saving childhood memories for her children. Please explain it to me, why on Earth it's bad to collect nice photos and anecdotes from your kids' childhood so they will be able learn about them in adulthood?
