Serious lag in SSMS between Azure VM with SQL and Red-gate tools installed. Any advice #sqlhelp

#sqlhelp Red-Gate SQL Monitor or SentryOne? Whats your preference and why?

#sqlhelp SSDT or SSMS\Red-Gate for database unit testing and source control? Any input would be awesome.

@sql_sa Is it a VDI backup? Is it in a VM? My guess would be the OS is doing a snapshot backup of the volume which is freezing the I/O briefly and taking a backup of the system dbs. Look in the error logs to see if there is a freeze happening #sqlhelp

#sqlhelp Something is attempting to backup my system db's every 4 hours and failing but no idea what's doing it. Any Ideas?
