Read the info from ebay about Authentication, it started with high end items like Versace, Coach etc, then went to cards. So people would not be buying fakes. Authenticating if it is real.

Had a card pass through eBay authentication and 5 minutes after it was delivered to the buyer he requested a refund for noticeable damage. Card was listed as mint and had no damage when I shipped it and eBay authenticated it as such. Anyone dealt with this before? @CardPurchaser

@Tragicskingdom @CardPurchaser As far as I understand they also inspect the card to make sure it is mint as listed in the description of said card. People have had cards rejected due to damage

@squid_tuttle @CardPurchaser Ebay authenticates if it is a real card and what was listed. If they authenticated the condition, meaning giving it a grade that would be grading a card, which is not happening. You can get high end shoes authenticated. Does not mean they grade them. Wish people could get this.

First, imo, you should be of the hook completely, but I also think the buyer shouldn’t get screwed either (ASSUMING the damage is real - Prob not). eBay should take the loss here, imo. Good luck!

@squid_tuttle @CardPurchaser I had this happen with a downtown. eBay handled it saying it passed authentication as listed and cancelled the refund + made it impossible to receive negative feedback for the transaction.

@squid_tuttle @CardPurchaser Once eBay authenticates, you’re good; the buyer can take it up with eBay authentication if there was damage to the card that was either not disclosed in the listing or happened during shipping
