🚨UPDATE: In memory of Deborah Anderson Last year, Thames Valley Police visited the home of an American cancer patient and Trump supporter and told her to apologise for her online posts — or face a formal investigation at the station. Deborah Anderson, a mother of two undergoing chemotherapy, was confronted by an officer who said someone had complained about her social media activity. Bald from treatment and fighting for her life, she stood her ground. As an American citizen and Free Speech Union member, she told him the police should be out catching burglars and rapists instead of policing “hurty words” on Facebook. The officer never revealed which post had supposedly caused offence. After the FSU stepped in, the force dropped the case — then claimed they had “accidentally deleted” the complaint record. This happened while the same officers were guarding President Trump. Deborah sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. In her final months she showed extraordinary courage defending free speech when many would have stayed silent. Her stand should never be forgotten. The UK’s obsession with online complaints while real crime goes unsolved is a national disgrace. RIP Deborah. We will keep fighting for the freedoms you defended.
