@nerdmodegamer @Mrwhosetheboss Their target costumers aren’t the ones who just bought a phone last year. It’s the ones who have a for example 5 year old phone who are looking to buy a new one. Year over your improvements aren’t as exciting as the 5 year improvement.

Tech companies are basically lying to you: - They compare their new products to ones released MANY years ago (to make it as confusing as possible to figure out how much has actually changed this time) - They invent new specs that mean absolutely nothing (like how much zoom their phone cameras can do) - They write “up to” just before telling you how much their new product has improved by (so you can’t sue them when you don’t get those numbers) And a LOT more So, I decided it was time to break it down with @MKBHD on YouTube - video live now

Like you can SMELL the stammering and clumsiness, the giggle snorts. She's gonna drop some Gen Z slang in a conversation then we're going to find out in her teenage years she used to dabble in magic but the real world worn her down and she'll find her 'whimsy' on the journey.

@TerminalWarGame This looks so fucking cool My only worry would be the overall UX of shooting someone and having to follow a head that not only can move with the body, but on its own

@delifisek_tux @dailyhubranx If you go to the unity website it showcases indie and stylized games like it always has. Please show me where the time ghost demo says "you can do this as one person" It's a showcase of what can be done with the engine, there's no "promise" being broken.

As someone who, in the 90s, built and ran Open Source systems on large infrastructures for many years with virtually no support, I expect organizations and individuals to keep their promises. What I've finally learned is that Unity and its cronyism don't allow for such things. They're so spineless that they'll abandon you halfway through, then blame you entirely and run away. So F*ck Unity. Even if I ever make money from a project using Unity someday, F*ck Unity.

@delifisek_tux @dailyhubranx This is very very silly. You're an exception for indie devs, for wanting triple A visuals. Maybe you can just grow up a little and look at your 1.5 years as a learning experience and not get angry at a game engine that was never for you.

My friend, did I mention that when I started this, I was a complete amateur indie game developer? I fell for demos like this and know-it-alls like you who rave about Unity. I sat down and built a 3D pipeline. From character builder to Blender. I wrote an extension in Python for Blender, then imported it into Unity. I wrote a dialogue system in Unity that worked with JSON. And the graphics quality didn't improve at all. Then one day, in frustration, I just imported the Assets into Unreal. Bingo... You might have made good money from Unity, or you might even have a product for sale in the Asset Store. But if anyone shows me the demo above and praises Unity, my answer is clear: F*CK UNITY.

@delifisek_tux @dailyhubranx This really is a skill issue. It's just an engine, it has advantages and disadvantages. I personally don't like using UE at all but I enjoy Unity and Godot. If you couldn't achieve whatever you wanted in 1.5 years then maybe you should have looked into the engine first.

Keep deluding yourself like that. You and others like you who profit from Unity are unnecessarily polishing it up. Beginners are falling for it. I did in Unreal alone what Unity couldn't. How is that going to happen? I lost such a valuable 1.5 years that my anger is overwhelming. I would have bought a machine capable of running Unreal on credit. I've never had that 1.5 years again in my life. Unity doesn't even have a fraction of the infrastructure that Unreal has, and you keep harping on about AAA graphics from morning till night. As if you could solve other issues if your AAA graphics quality were equal. You, Unity and its cronies, have deceived too many people, and now you're living in the mobile hell you deserve. I hope Godot brings about your end.
