Mumbai deputy mayor and Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena corporator Sanjay Ghadi has written to municipal commissioner seeking allotment of a vacant civic bungalow inside the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan premises in Byculla, citing the long commute from his residence in Dahisar and the need to attend official meetings on time. In a letter addressed to the commissioner, Ghadi said his daily travel between Dahisar (East) and the BMC headquarters at South Mumbai consumes considerable time and is frequently delayed by traffic congestion. He said the commute causes “mental and physical distress” and affects his ability to reach the civic headquarters on time for administrative meetings, seminars, public interactions and other official programmes.

My purse is full of cards (PAN, Aadhar, Voter ID, Passport Copy, Senior Citizen Card, Aayushman Card, Office ID card etc). But I have no proof to show that I am an Indian Citizen.

The next step BMC Commissioner should take is to halt all approvals for new construction projects until we have a plan for water. Otherwise next year may be worse. Mumbai is on a construction spree that masquerades as "transformation" but is actually "madness."

High time, construction of new high rised towers are banned. Under redevelopment, let there not be more than 10 or 12 storeyed Society. Let us preserve open space. Let there be more trees.
