ACP Sanjay Singh of @DelhiPolice had played cricket with Gambhir and Kohli. He is a traffic cop with 20 years experience. As a former cricketer, it was his instinct which told him Ngidi’s injury was a bad one. He took the call to activate the green corridor, an emergency route to allow uninterrupted passage that is generally reserved for organ donation. The ambulance with Ngidi and ACP Sanjay Singh, reached the hospital in 11 minutes, instead of 40 or so. 60 cops were involved for that 11 minutes. Ngidi is stable Maybe it is due to that call. Well done, sir! #IPL #DelhiPolice #Ngidi

@ganeshsonawane My niece used mokobara for her travels. Yesterday she drove down from Mumbai to bangalore. She had the Frido travel pillow wrapped around her neck snugly. 18 hours of travel. 0 neck issue. vouches it completely! In fact during our family gathering, 90% use frido products!!

conspiracy theory: this whole "ms dhoni likely to play next match" is biggest marketing stunt ipl bodies have ever pulled. if it's official he won't play ipl, many viewers will irreversibly vanish. organizers won't like it. they'd always bypass this issue with such "emotional game" of giving us hope so we stay invested. the man is not going to play, that's evident. far from playing full time. exact reason is kept ambiguous, in media calf injury is what they have fed. this whole thing looks staged or forced narrative, an injury doesn't allow a person to be on field unless recovered completely. i believe he is fully fit and wants to retire but they ain't letting him do so or contractually he is trapped somewhere that's making him do all this. in his heart, he has taken the decision already to leave, but will enforce it once he gets rid of all the capitalistic contraints around him. this whole ipl he ain't gonna play, fuckin sure it is. this is so apparent with whatever updates are surfacing. and we are fools in love with a never ending hope to see him pick that blade in a game for csk once again.

Some moments are bigger than the game. Walking out to play, carrying a loss no words can hold, you show what heart truly means. Not just a cricketer today, but a son playing for his mother. Every step, every ball, we stand with you. The team, the fans, all of us, right beside you. Strength, prayers, and yellove always, Mukesh. 💛 #WhistlePodu #MIvCSK #Respect

The thing about these relayed catches is that the man who made it possible never gets a mention on the scorecard. It’s not even his catch. Should they pair the names like they do for run outs? Like in this case: Hardik c Iyer/Bartlett b Jansen 14 Some credit or mention should be made of the initial fielder who put in all the hard work to make this a catch. But for his valiant effort this would never have been a catch. Thoughts?

Will be extremely interesting to see how the selectors will keep Shreyas out of the Indian T20 team. In my opinion he should be the captain.

@volklub We had Swift diesel manual. Fantastic car. Served us for more than 12 years. We explored skoda and Volkswagen(all models), grand vitara etc... but was going for mahindra 3xo automatic. However, we felt that upgrading to a similar sized one wasnt cutting it. Settled for Slavia!

While buying your new car, what was the 2nd closest choice of car that you rejected and for what reason? For exp: I rejected Seltos Turbo DCT in 2020 to get VW T-Roc because I felt that Seltos isn't as well built. Lately picked GLA over iX1 because iX1 / X1 were not having All-Wheel-Drive option. These insights will help many customers and brands too. Thanks

I saw a video of a person showing how to do lunges. Most people would scroll past thinking it's just another fitness influencer. Something felt different, so I checked his profile. His name is Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar. He's a MS, PhD from IIT Madras, Postdoc at University of Waterloo, Former Professor at IIT Kharagpur & IIT Madras, Ex Vice Chancellor, JNTU & currently Chairman, IIM Calcutta. Every day, he posts simple exercise videos asking- Have you done your exercise today? This is someone who has spent a lifetime at the frontier of Indian academia and doing his bit to balance intellectual, physical & mental health. I'm sure he has no incentives to do this and no course to sell unlike fitness influencers. The best thinkers across history knew this but somehow we forgot it while building our education system. This is the kind of educator India needs more.

My wife and I were having dinner at a restaurant in Bengaluru. There was a young couple sitting next to us. You could tell it was a special night. We overheard bits of their conversation..New job, finally some stability, something worth celebrating. They looked genuinely happy. Then their bill came. The card didn’t go through. They tried another. Declined. You could see the shift instantly. The smiles faded. They started quietly discussing what to remove, what they could actually afford. My wife looked at me. I didn’t say anything. Just called the waiter and asked him to add their bill to ours. We told him not to mention us. Just say it’s taken care of. We left before they could turn around. Didn’t want a thank you. Just wanted them to finish their night the way it began. We forgot about it. Three years later, a letter arrived at our home. Somehow, they had tracked us down. The waiter remembered us. Helped them find us. The letter said they were getting married. That night, the one we barely remembered… was their first proper date after months of struggle. Their first moment of relief after a long, difficult phase. They wrote: “Someone paying our bill made us believe that good people still exist. We carried that feeling through everything that came after.” They invited us to their wedding. We didn’t know them. But we went anyway. They introduced us to everyone.. “These are the people who showed us kindness when we needed it the most.” We danced at their wedding. We teared up during their Vows. Somehow, we felt like family. Today, they have a baby. They send us pictures, festival wishes, little updates from their life. And we’re a part of their story… because of one small moment. Sometimes family isn’t blood. It’s just people who chose to see you. #SundayStories

Her name is Sanjukta Parashar. She scored rank 85 in UPSC. She could have become an IAS officer. She chose IPS instead. She said she wanted to be on the ground. Not behind a desk. In 2006 she became the first Assamese woman to join the IPS. In 2008 they posted her in Makum. One of the most dangerous regions in northeast India. Bodo militants were killing civilians, burning villages, running arms networks for years before she arrived. Within 15 months she led 16 counter operations in the jungle. She arrested 64 militants. She seized tonnes of illegal weapons and ammunition. She did not lead from a command centre. She walked into the jungle holding an AK47 alongside CRPF jawans. She had a four year old child at home. Her husband is posted elsewhere. She sees him once in two months. She has a PhD in international relations from JNU. She could have had any career she wanted. She chose the hardest one. She is now an Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency. India has one Sanjukta Parashar. It needs a thousand more. Follow for real stories the country does not talk about enough.

The leak of #Jananayagan is not an accident - it is the result of systemic failure. Had due process been timely, we would not be here. Inordinate delays in certification created fertile ground for piracy. When legal access is stalled, illegitimate channels take over. Piracy is beyond politics; it is an attack on the art and artist itself. It endangers the work of hundreds of artists and technicians, and the investments of honest tax paying producers, exhibitors and theatre owners, all who sustain the cinema we love. Who protects the creator when the system fails? We need accountability, swift certification, strict enforcement, and real-time takedowns. I trust true lovers of cinema will unite and give a befitting response by watching the film legally in theatres, as you stood with me in the past.

Quick personal update: Today was my last day at Indian Express. It was a privilege to work with one of the best sports media teams in the country. Plenty of memories, plenty of learnings around a lot of great people. And, must day, got a kick out of seeing the byline on print. 😀
