An update on yesterday’s incident in New York near Gracie Mansion: Two subjects were arrested on scene yesterday and remain in custody. FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the matter with our partners at NYPD as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Preliminary analysis confirms one of the devices ignited and deployed by the subjects was an IED explosive. Tests remain ongoing for other devices. We will continue to update the public as able. Thank you to the brave law enforcement officers who took quick action and responded to what could’ve been a deadly attack.
