BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!! [A LOT TO READ ALERT] here's the bullet points: * New Production Trailer Build * Mark Rober collaboration and Co-Hosting * Starship Flight 7 * Astro Awards * Apollo Video DETAILS 👇 We're retiring our 4K production van, LUNA, which has been the heart of our livestreams for the last 3 years. But it was overflowing, completely out of rack space, could barely fit two operators, and our entire show was tied to an aging chassis. So we're expanding! This is our new 4K production trailer (yet to be named, hit us with suggestions), which can comfortably handle 6 operators (Producer, TD, Replay, Audio, 2 trackers), has much more redundancy including dual firewalls, dual 12G video switchers, proper upgraded and metered electrical, 3 x more pixels / screen real estate for the multi-views, and a ton more. This is a MAJOR upgrade and the big reason for the huge push is... ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm thrilled to be working with the one and only @MarkRober to provide coverage and co-hosting his upcoming Sat Gus flying on SpaceX's Transporter 12 mission NET January 14, 2025 at Vandenberg Space Force Base!!! This is a huge opportunity for me to be part of a mission that exemplifies the idea of "Brining space down to Earth for everyday people" more than just about anything. Mark's reach (especially with young people) is incredible, and the video he produced on how they built and are launching the satellite, is absolute TOP TIER educational content reaching a very impressionable audience. He will be streaming the launch exclusive to his CrunchLabs subscribers, but he's also allowing us to share the stream to our supporters as well (X subscribers, YouTube members & Patreon supporters), which I'm excited to be able to share with you, so standby for that link later. And as exciting as it is, the timing of this couldn't be more challenging for myself and our crew. Not only is the Astro Awards coming up in less than 3 weeks, but we also have Starship's 7th flight potentially being a timeline conflict for our crew and production trailer. We've been working non stop for over a week to outfit the trailer to be able to leave TX no later than the 11th to make it to Vandenberg on time. Having made a commitment 6 months out means we could wind up in a situation where we can't cover both, and the worst timing COULD come true, but... it is what it is! This means I MIGHT not be able to be at Starship Flight 7 in person 😭 Which go figure, means I might miss the SECOND CATCH after having missed the first catch (the only Starship flight I've missed) 😭 But fear not, in case of this situation, we've devised a plan to be able to cover Flight 7 LIVE with the majority of our slow mo cameras and trackers, as well as a way to get feeds to me wherever I might actually be, in order to cover Flight 7, but unfortunately it just might not be in person. There is a chance the two missions don't conflict, but with our trailer requiring nearly a week to get out to California, run a show and come back, it's quite stressful and leaves no margin. And with the Astro Awards right around the corner, I really hope everything goes smoothly. Although we aren't planning to livestream the Astro Awards to focus on the in person experience, we will still be recording and producing content that will be published after the event, including of course, the Awards ceremony itself. We have the nominations officially nailed down and will be announcing that full line including the panelists & speeches this week, which is extremely exciting! I can't wait, it's going to be very fun to celebrate and mingle after such a stressful month. All this means the massive 2 and a half hour deep dive on the Apollo Program is on hold until this dust settles. I was making a lot of very good progress on it through December and was working very hard to get it done by the holidays, it's now just simply put in “When It’s Done™” territory, which likely means it won't be published until February or March. Please cheer us on as we work tirelessly to do everything our little and mighty crew can do. We're so honored to have huge opportunities like this, and I'm so fortunate to have my absolute dream job chasing rockets, but at times like this, it does come with a lot of stress and pressure. And I should also mention a thank you to our supporters who allow making huge investments like this possible and continues to allow us to produce the best content we possibly can, period. I love you all, Happy New Year and here's to starting off an action packed 2025!!! CHEERS!!!

@MartinSLewis We run the 'Bank of Knee' in a shared note. They see their debits and credits and have been aware of this since about 5 years old. They work for their money with some simple regular and ongoing chores. They never ask for money, but ask for jobs instead if they want something.

TELL US: Your pocket money rules. How old are the children? How much do you give? Do they have to work for it? Does that include tidying their room. Pls let us know how you do pocked money in your house by reply. Like your faves and some will be read out on my podcast.

@kylecoolky @TheAppleDesign Suspected as much. Just highlighting the ‘attention to detail point’ without this attention to detail! Frame rate conversions really frustrate me as it’s the poor relative of pixels and colour!

Today is polling day in the Kingstanding by-election. A chance4residents in Kingstanding to send a message to the failing Labour Council for bankrupting our city - imposing their double whammy of higher taxes for fewer services. Thank you to everyone out on the dawn raid earlier.

Busy last couple of days campaigning @Walking2Win for the best team for the West Midlands Mayor @andy4wm and PCC @Tom4PCC @Conservatives . Don't risk letting 'bankrupt' Birmingham Labour's backed candidates getting in - vote for Andy Street and Tom Byrne!

We welcome this intervention & the inquiry starting. Birmingham Labour have repeatedly refused to call for the inquiry to start, voting against a motion demanding one. #Birmingham tax payers deserve answers as to why Labour ignored warnings for years. buff.ly/3JKxWwZ

@RossjournoClark Many options Ross. I have 175kWh of storage at my home. If half my village had the same then that would almost match the Dogger Bank storage. Every EV that gets sold is another 50-100kWh that will get connected to the grid at some point.

Britain has 43.2 gigawatts of installed capacity in wind and solar. Currently they are generating 1.4 gigawatts. Gas (28.6 gigawatts) is making up the difference. What happens in 2035 (or 2030 if Labour win) when gas has been removed?

@gordonrox @paolopescatore We are totally gutted. Planned a northern jolly boys tesla trip from Hull to Rotherham on the ferry but have been bumped...so it's carbon offset flights. Really disappointed, but mildly relieved to avoid Steve Knee, James Lacey and Michael Beaumont's Spotify playlist in the car.
