Congratulations to Dr Abhishek on the grant of his patent yesterday titled “Modified Geosynthetic Clay Liner Using Black Cotton Soil”. The patent is based on his PhD research conducted under our joint supervision at the Department of Civil Engineering, Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, formerly known as Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, established in 1921. That’s an outstanding outcome, Abhishek! You have demonstrated great hard work and patience, and have followed my Seven Research Mantras (link.springer.com/article/10.100…). Many congratulations! Your patent has the potential to make lining projects for landfills, ponds, and canals more cost-effective and sustainable, both in India and globally. Your research journey will always remain an inspiring example for others. Wishing you continued success in your academic and professional journey. @CGIPerth @myogiadityanath @CMOfficeUP @narendramodi @PMOIndia @AlboMP @RogerCookMLA

Many people use the words map and plan interchangeably. But do we really know the exact difference? This short episode explains the concept simply through the idea of scale, something fundamental in science, engineering, and everyday understanding. This episode may be useful for children, students, parents, engineers, professionals, and lifelong learners. #LearningWithDrShukla #EngineeringFundamentals #CivilEngineering #Surveying #LifelongLearning Watch here: youtu.be/-DKOj_pNQ0Q

At first glance, soil feels solid and heavy, while water flows easily. But science often challenges our assumptions. Density is not about appearance — it is about mass per unit volume. From soil mechanics to life lessons, true strength depends on what fills the inner space. In this AI era, let us strengthen our fundamentals in science, engineering, and life. #LearningWithDrShukla #SoilMechanics #EngineeringFundamentals #LifelongLearning Water vs Soil: Which is truly denser? | Learning with Dr Shukla youtu.be/1zO-bUFZ7Gw?si… via @YouTube
