Doing cardio at the gym this afternoon, I realized it has been 18 years since I retired from the Marine Corps. The 22 years I served went by quick, but these last 18 went by even quicker. Semper Fi Marine Corps.

This escalated FAST… A customer tried to return a $3,000 item at Best Buy, but the cashier refused, and things quickly turned tense. Situations like this can go from calm to confrontational in seconds, especially when big money is involved. Who do you think is actually in the wrong here, the customer or the store? And should stores be more flexible with returns on expensive items?

You work hard when you need to, and you don’t watch the clock. Gen Z: Again, I work for the hours I’m paid for, and since overtime is not an option, I’ll go ahead and adjust my hours this week to accommodate the shift in the schedule. Manager: You’re not quite understanding the company culture we have here—we work all the time. Gen Z: And you’re not understanding that just because that is the way you do things does not mean that is how I’m required to do things as well. Manager: (Silence)

@Jan_07x Not sure I always agree. Smaller private companies can be massively toxic since power is so concentrated with so few people. If those people are awesome, I agree with you though.

Adulting is realising that working for smaller private companies makes so much more sense than working for the big corporations.
