Today I am BEYOND PUMPED because @danluu is joining Wave :D :D :D He'll work on various eng org improvements that I've wanted to do but had no bandwidth for (to eg hiring, onboarding, perf, other processes...), or as Dan described it, "so basically, the fun part of your job"

We've used @Zulip since Jan 2013. Despite all that's happened since (Zulip was acquired and later adopted by a new company), we still have 100% of our data and have had less downtime than we'd have had using Slack. (Also Zulip is OSS and way better.) blog.zulip.com/2021/12/17/why…

Wave is hiring! When folks ask where they can find a tech job that "does good", Wave has been my go-to answer since '16. DM @benskuhn if interested. People recommend companies on Twitter all the time. It's generally not credible, so I'll try to explain why this rec is credible.

At a Wave retreat in Senegal and the amount of love from random strangers is absolutely unreal. Hotel staff (and guests) walking up to say thanks. We spent the morning visiting agents in small groups and one group got SPONTANEOUSLY CHEERED by passers-by. It's nuts.

Wave is hiring for an unusual number of high-leverage roles right now! • Sr+ eng • Product manager • Head of Security If you’re thinking about how to have the biggest possible positive impact on the world, and interested in measuring success in “% of GDP saved”—let’s talk?

.@GretchenAMcC Loved “Because Internet”. Wondered if the sarcasm ~ might be related to the ~’s use as the bitwise not operator in computer languages. Some of the sarcasm examples read correctly when ~ is pronounced “not"
