When I was born, my American uncle jokingly invested $1,000 for me in Home Depot. HD IPO'd in 1981 at $12. That bought around 83 shares. Then came 13 stock splits. 83 shares became 28,363. Today HD sits around $300/share. Current value: around $8.6M. How does the story end? Nothing. I woke up.
