On this day in 1865 Archibald Leitch was born. The Glasgow born architect designed over 40 stadiums. Unfortunately, much of his work doesn't exist anymore as most of his work has been demolished over the years. Just as this stand at Windsor Park. #archi… instagr.am/p/CriRHqLIPq6/

Valencia announced this morning that work would begin on 'Nou Mestalla' again after 16 years. Their aim is to be moved in by 2027. Sadly, it means their current ground, the iconic Mestalla, will likely be demolished. The Mestalla is one of football's greatest venues. From a heritage perspective, its demolition would be disastrous. Grounds like Mestalla are anchor points - social hubs for the football community, places where memories and stories have been shared and created, and a part of the historic fabric of the game. To lose it would be to lose a part of football's soul.
