@aerialvisionni @BelTel No I'm not. My point is, this is only a story because of his job and that's hideous.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the 10th anniversary dinner for the Macari Centre last night. Fantastic to see so many of you there. It's been a long journey and here's to the next 10 years

Volunteers from Stalybridge Town Team have partnered with the Canal & River Trust (CRT) to deliver a new environmental improvement project along the canal near Tesco in Stalybridge. As part of ongoing joint efforts to enhance the town centre’s green spaces, volunteers worked alongside CRT staff to construct and plant a bespoke canal‑boat‑style planter on the towpath. Unfortunately, despite peace, like the rest of Northern Ireland, Belfast has failed to come close to achieving its potential and it remains a divided society. The GFA provided the opportunity but it hasn’t been capitalised on. There’s potential, but no will to exploit it. The only things that seem to ignite NI politicians are flags, commemorations and marches.

Was asked in Belfast last night the difference between the city in 1998 and now. I said then it felt permanently on edge and dangerous. Now it feels like a modern European capital city. The wonderful ⁦⁦@Waterfront_Hall⁩ a symbol of that.

@GMB This is a disgrace. There must be a public campaign + instruction from Government to reinstate this guy. What depth has the UK fallen to?

Good Morning Britain
After being sacked for retrieving a passenger’s stolen necklace from a thief, London bus driver Mark Hehir has seen a huge surge of public support, with a petition calling for his reinstatement gaining traction online. Mark becomes emotional as he’s praised by the passenger whose necklace he recovered, before telling @susannareid100 and @edballs how much he loved his job.

💥🗣NEW: 'Trump doesn’t understand service. I watched people die in front of me. I put people into helicopters. It’s an absolute insult.' 🎥🎤Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 speaking to @uuponline Justice Spokesperson @BeattieDoug. Mr Beattie served three tours in Afghanistan with the Royal Irish Regiment. President Donald Trump claimed NATO troops stayed “a little off the front lines” during the war in Afghanistan. Mr Beattie said the comments are an absolute insult, adding that the President has no idea what he’s talking about and that the remarks are extremely dangerous. He detailed how he watched people die, carried injured colleagues into helicopters, and later had friends who took their own lives after returning home. Said the comments are insulting to him, to colleagues such as @AndyAllen88 who were seriously injured, and to the families who lost sons and daughters.

@EoinTennyson @allianceparty You cannot cut the cost of living. It's what it is. What politicians can do is stop the leakage & wastage. You can also focus on improving productivity in a very poorly performing economy & so folks improve their earnings to afford costs that they face.

People are crying out for leadership to fix broken public services, not sham fights about flags. Every year we squander hundreds of millions running a divided society and segregated services. That money would be better invested in health, housing and cutting the cost of living.

@SorchaEastwood @allianceparty Whilst I suspect most people would agree, it's action on the ground that matters & not process. Get rid of the gangsters. Take a hard line with benefit fraud. Build a prosperous country with decent productivity. Become less reliant on the Westminster hand out.

We all agree that the system of government in Northern Ireland can & should be better- calls for change don't just belong to Alliance- people who are unionist and nationalist are also endorsing change. This isn't just a view from one section of the community, it is supported by people from right across the political spectrum. Calling for a sustainable system of government isn't controversial; it is essential.

Workers and families here are paying the price for Keir Starmer’s complete failure to move away from over a decade of Tory cuts and chaos. Decisions by successive British governments have seen living costs rise and public services underfunded, while the wealth of elites and multinationals has soared. This week I met with the British government and directly challenged them for failing to prioritise the needs of workers and families. I made a commitment to each of you that I would have your back in every room I enter, and I will continue doing everything I can to fulfil that promise.

I want to pay tribute to all the hunger strikers, who have shown remarkable resilience in support of the Palestinian people. They have shamed our government but inspired a movement with their bravery and moral purpose. We know this is not the end. We will keep campaigning to end all arms sales to Israel, and we will never give up until justice has been achieved for the people of Palestine.

The images of body bags leave no doubt about the brutality of Iran’s repression, and a communications blackout is indefensible. Across the country, Iranians are protesting real economic hardship, much of it deepened by US sanctions. From the UK, genuine solidarity means opposing those sanctions and the imperial strategies and aspirations behind them. At the same time, this unrest is being cynically exploited by Netanyahu’s genocidal government as a pretext for military intervention and regime change — a path that must be firmly rejected. It must be clear: only the Iranian people have the right to decide their own future. No outside power should dictate or interfere. Any serious politics requires holding all of these truths together.
