Why all eyes on Kumawu constituency? The NPP won the seat with 11.15% margin in 2020 with the former MPs in a two-horse race with an independent candidate, Kweku Duah, who is contesting the seat again. Ordinarily, there should not be a contest in Kumawu but for the emergence of Kweku Duah Snr. However, if Kweku Duah puts up similar performance as in 2020, it will require a swing of just 5.6% for the NPP to lose the seat (voters switching their votes or abstaining). There is room for error for the NPP. The economic situation, the late development of projects in the constituency and general voter apathy in the Ashanti could have made the government sense danger in Kumawu, hence, the deployment of full party big guns in the constituency. If the NPP fails to win the seat, there would serious threat to their thin razor majority in the parliament therefore, they can't afford to lose the seat. Global InfoAnalytics will be bringing the final poll from the constituency before the by-elections on Tuesday.
