Trump has in effect finished NATO off whether out of stupidity or subservience to Putin. He has done so by talking about leaving NATO incessantly & talking about NATO as them. He has unacceptably insulted NATO members. An ambassador who spoke like that about his or her host country would be declared persona non grata. He has stopped all aid to Ukraine, although the main threat to Europe is Russia. He has sucked up to Putin & even Lukashenko at every turn & even invited him to the US. He has ended many sanctions on Russia enriching Russia. He is working hard for breaking up the EU by supporting Brexit & Orban, just like Putin. Trump is no ally of Europe or Canada but a threat. Europeans hesitate what to do. The softies want to wait until Trump is gone. Europe will be better off breaking fast with the USA. EU defense budgets exceed $500 bn this year, three times Russia's military budget. Europe does not need an unreliable US in Europe. Kick out the superfluous US military bases!
