@WhiteHouse What idiotic AI slop. But about what can be expected from this Administration.

@RetrievingBucks @IanKennedyCK I was thinking similar and looked at the CBA (global-uploads.webflow.com/64d22f9c3617ad…) and it’s actually fairly silent on how much and how exactly the league can discipline players. The NHLPA CBA has almost 10 pages covering discipline for on-ice conduct. (And another three for off-ice conduct)
English

@IanKennedyCK Out of curiosity, is there any precedent for escalating discipline for repeat offenders?
English

Britta Curl-Salemme received the 5th and 6th measures of supplemental discipline in her PWHL career, this time a one-game suspension and $250 fine for a dangerous hit to the head against Montreal's Kaitlin Willoughby and separate harm to Abby Roque.

@FO17GNOS @PWHL_Minnesota It’s still wild so to speak. I’ve never seen it in the NHL but it does happen in the AHL.

@PWHL_Minnesota A back to back in the playoffs??

@IanKennedyCK It’s an interesting way to try to balance the need to have expansion teams start with some potential high level players and not completely dilute existing teams. Having said that the original six ended up being less diluted than anticipated after last expansion.

BREAKING:
The PWHL is planning a five phase expansion process beginning May 28, running through June 13.
Here are the details of the proposed plan:

English

@gamedayhky Holding at 12 for several seasons would allow the league to use the takeover tours more to spread the excitement than primarily look for expansion opportunities.
English

@IanKennedyCK Ottawa city doing its best to lose a PWHL team. They are super short sighted if they think the league is going to shrink in excitement. Have they not noticed the growing attendance in every other market?
English

@IanKennedyCK It’s a tough choice. There are good reasons for Montreal to pick either.
English

@thepwhlofficial We could have a finals rematch from last year. That would be wild.
English

@SubwayOperator @IanKennedyCK As league expands the value of the gold plan will become more clear
English

@IanKennedyCK Not enough teams eliminated so will it ever really be a race. With this years draft class is there really what you could call a loser in the race.
Heck of a draft class

@WallStreetApes Math here doesn’t math. You don’t owe 17K without making massively more than the average household. And on top of that having almost no taxes held out of your paychecks- and that’s a choice you make- not the government.
English

American works full time, she doesn’t own a home, “I don't own anything crazy”
She just did her taxes and “I literally sh*t my f*cking pants”
Despite working full time, not making any big purchases, she has no money but owes $17,000 in taxes
She says if she were to pay her taxes, she would actually be negative money after working all year just from paying bills and taxes
“I just wanna know how the f*ck does one owe so much money in taxes when they got no money?”
As of 2026, data shows the average American does not have any substantial amount of money left at the end of the year after bills, taxes, and typical spending
In fact the number is so low, that after taxes the average American typically only is able to save 4% of their money after bills
Insane

@gamedayhky @TheHockeyNewsW Well broken down. Seems like in season 1 and 2 it’s gonna come down to the final day.

@vikashneo @elonmusk That chart is worthless. Is that supposed to be the total miles of all cars? All cars for a given model year? All cars in a calendar year? A far more useful metric would be miles driven before a major collision per 100K cars (based on miles driven since unit first put in service)
English

@CriticBC @IanKennedyCK The players did vote last year to make the salary data non private.
English

@IanKennedyCK Disgraceful that you would publish this, Ian. Absolutely shameful.
English

Some very interesting numbers here. Plenty of growth already this season, and I'm sure with the boom this sport is experiencing and with more expansion incoming, salaries will continue to rise.
The Hockey News - Women’s@TheHockeyNewsW
In 2024-25, 69% of all PWHL players made less than the league's average salary, while more than 45% made $40,000 or less. Others made six figures. Here's a look at the PWHL salaries for all contracted players from the 2024-25 season. ✍️ @PatLaprade thehockeynews.com/womens/pwhl/pw…

@gamedayhky I don’t disagree this looks missed on later review. Only thing I can think of is the linesperson thought one of the Scepters could have played it - which would negate icing as expected - or thought there was a deflection. (I can’t see one watching at 1/4 speed)
English

@gamedayhky It does happen, there are games in the PWHL (and NHL) where no penalties are called on one or both teams.
Toronto let up the gas and let the Frost outshoot them 12-3 in the 3rd. When you are being outplayed that much in a period, mistakes can happen as players “force” the game.
