@RetrievingBucks @IanKennedyCK I was thinking similar and looked at the CBA (global-uploads.webflow.com/64d22f9c3617ad…) and it’s actually fairly silent on how much and how exactly the league can discipline players. The NHLPA CBA has almost 10 pages covering discipline for on-ice conduct. (And another three for off-ice conduct)

@IanKennedyCK It’s an interesting way to try to balance the need to have expansion teams start with some potential high level players and not completely dilute existing teams. Having said that the original six ended up being less diluted than anticipated after last expansion.

@gamedayhky Holding at 12 for several seasons would allow the league to use the takeover tours more to spread the excitement than primarily look for expansion opportunities.

Gina Kingsbury said that the PWHL 'will slow down' expansion after this year, lending credence to the idea that they will add 4 teams to get to that magic number 12 they seem to want.

@IanKennedyCK Ottawa city doing its best to lose a PWHL team. They are super short sighted if they think the league is going to shrink in excitement. Have they not noticed the growing attendance in every other market?

The Ottawa Charge finished their 2025-26 regular season with an average attendance of 8,131. Exactly as Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and OSEG predicted, less than 5,500.

While I get why we’re all talking about the Gold Plan as a mechanism to deter tanking, at this point in the PWHL it’s just an awesome way to decide the 1st overall pick. In a single entity ownership league, we’re never going to see teams intentionally tank.

The math doesn’t math this DoorDash to the White House stunt. To “save $11,000 in taxes” she would have to have an AGI of $73,100 which would equate to closer to at least $100,000 gross pre tax income (of just tips!). Way above median household income on supposedly just tips.

@DerrickEvans4WV Miller doesn’t understand math.

Stephen Miller just said “…if the only people who received benefits were those who lawfully qualified, were eligible and needed them, we would balance the federal budget.” Fraud is going to bankrupt our country. We need to catch these fraudsters and lock them up.

@vikashneo @elonmusk That chart is worthless. Is that supposed to be the total miles of all cars? All cars for a given model year? All cars in a calendar year? A far more useful metric would be miles driven before a major collision per 100K cars (based on miles driven since unit first put in service)

@elonmusk Affordable is relative, but the bigger point is that Tesla managed to make an EV feel like a normal car decision instead of some luxury guilt purchase. That shift is bigger than people realize.

@gamedayhky I don’t disagree this looks missed on later review. Only thing I can think of is the linesperson thought one of the Scepters could have played it - which would negate icing as expected - or thought there was a deflection. (I can’t see one watching at 1/4 speed)

A missed icing call 35 seconds before the Frost scored a power-play goal smh

@gamedayhky It does happen, there are games in the PWHL (and NHL) where no penalties are called on one or both teams. Toronto let up the gas and let the Frost outshoot them 12-3 in the 3rd. When you are being outplayed that much in a period, mistakes can happen as players “force” the game.

Still wondering why the Frost had zero penalties in this game.
