@start_82 From 1974-1986, the Chief Steward officiated from the black booth on top of the flagstand. In 1987, the officials moved to a white booth on the roof of the Paddock Penthouse Timing & Scoring was in the Master Control Tower

The Master Control Tower at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was built in 1957. It was used through 1998, then dismantled and demolished over 1999-2000. The present day Pagoda was built in its place. Back in the day, spectators were permitted to go inside and climb to the top floor (usually during practice and qualifying days). @bobpockrass The 5 car wasn't running last he was in about 10th or 12th I think NASCAR just screwed him over and playing favorites. There's no other excuse for it.

I remember an executive telling me at a specific OEM, that may or may not be named: “We don’t care about Xfinity, it doesn’t do anything for us except cost us money.” After a failure of a development program (not driver or OEM fault), seems they just gave up entirely.
